Signed a new contract not this past Saturday but the one before that, got a Samsung galaxy s2. Absolutely HATE the phone. Want an iPhone. What are the policies regarding switching phones this early in the contract? Purchased at best buy here in van. Any other solutions? I know I'd have to pay the difference and am cool with that.
Thoughts?

There is no 50MB rule on a smartphone
It is sad I need to state the obvious but some people just don't get it. Any posts I make are my own OPINIONS and in no way represent the views of my employer
took a family member to sign up a month ago, was also told that there's a data limit on the smart phone (don't remember whether it was 50 or 100mb, though).
McPaul: your situation's funny. Had a friend a few months back (soon after the iPhone 4S launch) that got the 4S, and hated it. it was past 3 weeks of usage, though (he thought it would grow on him because of all the hype he heard), so he couldn't return it. Anyways, he ended up selling it and got the Galaxy II. After cleaning up some stuff and customizing the look of the screens, he got what he was looking for, and officially declared himself happy with the phone after 2 days (still with that phone).
If a store tells you a 50MB limit ask them to show you in the contract. Most are bogus made up in the store (to the best of my recollection only 1 phone ever had a data limit, and it wasn't 50MB)
Asked my friend to look. on page 2 of the agreement he signed, 3rd line (under the GST/HST, beside the invoice totals):
"...15 day exchange/refund on new products excluding final sale products. must be in original condition. cellular phones subject to 14day/30minutes (postpaid), & 15day/15minute (prepaid), whichever comes first buyers remorse policy. Data devices subject to 15day/DOA policy only. Mobile devices subject to 14day/50mb data usage...."
IMO that 50MB is a leftover from the old WAP days.
It should either:
-Increase to 500MB.
-Be removed outright.
Official Policy:
Mobile Phones and Smartphones
14 days of purchase or 30 minutes of voice usage, whichever comes first. Mobile phones and smartphones are not subject to data thresholds.
Mobile Internet Devices (Turbo Sticks, MiFi and Turbo Hub)
14 days of purchase, with data usage not exceeding 50 megabytes.
Effective July 1, 2010 for purchases made on or after that date.
well I apologize for not coming back sooner. I went back to bestbuy to return the case and headset they sold me quite some time ago (before there was any replies here).
After the returns were processed I went back to the mobility area to talk about a phone switch. they gave me the 30 minutes limit ONLY and knowing that all my talk time was under that, I ran home to get the phone and did the switch.
overall, the process didn't take terribly long and I was able to step away with a new iPhone 4S. I was somewhat dissappointed that they couldn't sell me the ones with 64GB (my itunes music collection alone is pushing 64GB) because they didn't carry it, or have it in stock or whatever, so I went back with just a 16GB phone, which was the same size as the samsung apparently. I guess I'll just make a random 8GB playlist and sync it each time I sync my phone, so I always have a random selection from my music library, podcasts, movies and photos. works for me. I'll likely get the 128GB whenever they start making phones with that capacity. Hopefully this feature will be on the new iPhone 5 in October, but I doubt it.
I did have to pay $160 as well as give back (and reload) the $100 gift card they gave me with the samsung, but it was totally worth it.
I quite enjoyed the Samsung phone and think that if you were comparing on specs alone it would be a no brainer for people to choose the Samsung. it was much faster than the iphone and had a much bigger screen without adding too much more to the overall size. However, now that I have tried it, I can say without a doubt that I Hate Hate HATE the Android operating system and will speak out against it whenever I can.
Thanks for the help, ohh, also. can anyone tell me where I can go to upgrade my Fab10? because I didn't have a phone previous to getting this one, and I resetted my Samsung to factory settings before returning, I did not have my contacts with me when I was in store, and so the guy just set my Fab 10 as all the same (my work number). I'd like to update my Fab10 please. is there a website where I can go and simply update this info?
Thank you.
