Does anybody know if the Samsung Galaxy Note works with MTS?

Since the whole forum got 'rebooted' (it looks all different now and all the threads are gone) there hasn't been a
thread for people to post compatible unlocked phones for MTS. I've been looking at the Galaxy Note since it was announced, and I'm really wanting to pick it up. I'm mainly just worried if it'll work on MTS though, as I've heard loads of stories of Motorola phones not working with MTS's HSPA+ and not getting data. Anyone own one and would like to chime in?

    On the tech specs it says that is supports "GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz UMTS 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 MHz".

Also, I'm gonna be picking one up from newegg.ca and I would like to know if they're good with returns incase they send me a defective phone.

Thanks for anyone who can help.

First off - the threads are still around, they are just older than a month. Scroll down and change your "view" for older posts.

Second, I think it should work with MTS with those specs. Let me know what you think of it.

MTS uses the UMTS 850/1900 MHz spectrum so you will be good to go with any phone that supports this. Technically you could use GSM/EDGE 850/1900MHz typically used by Rogers (MTS roaming partner) but it would be slow. This is what MTS uses in SK for roaming.
The second thing that would be required is that the phone/tablet is not sim locked to any carrier, also known as unlocked. Generally if you pay full price for the device with no contract it will be unlocked or the provider will unlock it for you. If it was purchased under a 1, 2, or 3 year contract it will typically be locked to that provider.
Bell, Rogers, SaskTel, MTS, Telus and AT&T in the US all use the same technology for the 3/4G actually known as HSPA
    Hope this helps.

MTS doesn't roam on the MTS 2G network in Manitoba. If I put my girlfriend's Torch on "2G" it just searches for service.

That's because MTS don't have a 2G network. They used CDMA. But you can force your phone to use Rogers network (even in MB] and then set your phone to use 2G only. It works on my Android devices. All though I don't know why anyone would want to do this other than save battery power.
