    005SH Unlock Options

    Hello everyone!
I stumble upon this forum while looking for ways to unlock my 005SH phone..

I lived in Japan for half a year and had been using this phone during my stay,
and had really hoped to be able to continue to use it as I return to Canada.

I understand that this phone requires a hypersim to be able to continue to function - which I did buy one (INEX hypersim), but my first attempt to CPR the card, as I put it back it says "Usim is not inserted"...

I know I can order another INEX card, but it isn't quite cheap to do so - 80CAD (Approx 80USD) for it, and I was wondering if theres any cheaper alternatives.

I've been lurking around the forums and seems like people are close to finding a way to software unlock this phone..?

My question is, I'm wondering if I should just wait for someone to announce the softunlock, or if someone has any recommendations of a cheap (slightly cheaper than 80 dollars...) hypersim that I can use for now. Thanks!

Check out this post, think it might help. Only 10 bucks apparently, can use it until a softunlock comes out. Should probably ask the guy who posted if he can give you some more info though since I don't have a 005sh xD

As Fail9 said: read my thread, there's a link to the site where you can buy the hypersim. It's very cheap and does a great job. No need to spend insane amounts on INEXes that aren't nearly as reliable as advertised.

    Hey, thanks for the suggestion.
So I ordered this sim and tried it out - and unfortunately it doesn't seem to work for me.
My guess is my network provider's sim card isn't compatible with this hypersim?

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Not sure if non-iNEX hypersims are still incompatible with newer Rogers/Fido SIM cards, but a while back the only option for Rogers and Fido customers with newer SIM cards was the iNEX hypersim. Despite its reputation for being overpriced and flimsy it might be your only option.

You can also try getting a new SIM replacement before blowing $100 on an iNex- sometimes a worn out SIM is the issue.

    Hey,
Thanks for the reply - the sim is actually brand new, I just got it a few weeks ago.. So I guess I have no option until a free softunlock comes out?

We are in the same situation xD.

I've asked in another post about something I've discovered. There's an item on ebay that can backup your SIM card and then write in on a blank SIM card (all included in the purchase), which is this one:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/16-in-1-Supe...item256fe33b39

... maybe that blank simcard is more compatible than ours, and we can use the hypersim with that sim card. ... I've already bought it (just 5 minutes ago). I guess that for just 3.69 dollars it's worth the try =P . However it'll take like a month till it arrives to my house
