I am looking for other charging options for my iPhone 4 other than the usb sync cable? Anyone try the powermat?
No matter how many cables I buy, they all go bad sooner or later. Thanks for the info.

There are docks which can charge an iPhone or iPod. They sell speaker and radio systems which will charge iPhones and iPods.
Some examples are here:

Thank you for the info!
You can charge by solar. Check out SōL cases:

A: No, I would treat her as an equal.
Ultimately, all alternative power sources are converted to USB in order to charge an iPhone. There is no other charging port on the device.

I take care of all of my stuff too. It's just a pain to keep going through cables.

I've used the same 2 cables to charge all my iPhones since the original one came out in 2007, and they still work perfectly fine, so I suspect it's not the cables' fault.
My iPad charger charges it mighty fast. Don't know if we are supposed to use it like that but since it is more power it is much faster.
trying to come up with better signature.......
I totally agree. I am surprised by how many people have stuff that keeps breaking and continue to blame the the item. I am currently charging my ipad using the cable I got with my now passed on (to another person) ipod from 2009. Cable still looks new and works perfectly and interchangeably between my ipad and iphone.
With a dock one can leave the cable attached permanently. Cables fail because people disconnect by pulling on the cable or produce metal fatigue by continually bending the cable at a single point. With Wi-Fi synchronization and software updates, one hardly ever has to connect the cable directly to the device.

my friend has one of these socket holders (i guess you call them) are pretty nice. they keep your cable nice and neat and has a nice place for your phone to sit. if your worried about messing up your cables and having wires everywhere then maybe this is a good idea for you?
