Anyone come back to BB after iPhone and android?

After reading all the "NO"s..... Here is a Yes! I have to be honest I also use a Tmobile Galaxy S2 but I love the durability and security of my BB. The keyboard is so much easier to text while I drive also (I know im not supposed to) but it doesn't count if i don't have to look at it right!?! I'll use a BB for a long time for work!

Yes, I have, and so has a friend. Me and my friend have switched from iPhone 4's to Blackberry, because for our business it allows us to respond faster and easier to clients with less mistakes. iPhone is cool, but fun is secondary to me as of right now in my life.

Had BB's before. They are okay.
Seen and handled many Androids. I don't like any of them.

I use my Torch almost exclusively these days. My Nexus S is a major data pig, and uses about 10x the amount my BB does. I'm tired of it. The app permissions are insane for many of them, even the paid ones. It seems I'm paying Google to spy on my life, and paying for the data they use as well. And yes, I know I can turn off background data, but that neuters it for basic functions.

Other than that, it's a decent device. There are just too many hassles to use as a daily driver. I won't buy another one. Ever.

If you dont mind rooting there afew apps to block data access & permission requests for you such as droidwall,lbe security,permission dog,privacy droid etc. Also avast as added an firewall option to its app no root required.

edit: there also afew apps that let u edit the "hosts" file to block ads.

Here's something that is nifty....

The Abine company (think I spelled that right) makes a browser add-on called Do Not Track. It blocks everything, including Big G.

Wow! you really think iOS/Android is all about farting/beer drinking apps?
Business Apps: Bloomberg, Reuters (Pro, Marketplace), Mint.com, ALL banking apps not sites, investor apps, Cisco Receiver, Sharepoint working properly in the browser (and not paying for it),
Audio Composition/Production apps: create your own beats, import midi/wave tracks, LEARN playing Guitar/Bass directly & interactively.
Email/Contacts/Calendar: More than one account at a time!! Book Meeting Rooms & Resources (Exchange 2007/2010)!

^ thats just a few that I can blink at for BOTH platforms. BBM ... overrated except for a handful of features, in a few months it won't be unique any longer - and it doesn't matter what you figure out how to use with it, it'll be powerless without enough users in your team/personal life that use its features.

As you can see ... I've left BlackBerry for a while now - both for personal use and also for work. I honestly believe that all my BB certifications will be useless in just 10mths (anyone else notice that 8mths ago RIM stopped certification for anything RIM related?!)

WOW, banking apps, that allow you to do limited things versus the banks website which allows you to do more, gee.

I've tried both android and iphone. BB's LED, ringer profiles, and stability/reliability brought me back quite quickly lol. Also for some reason push email works better on bb...

I'm sorry, you said "stability"?? I had a BB for 5 years and I can tell you one thing I don't miss is are the constant re-boots/battery pulls/freezes/

I was on an HTC Desire for about a year and a half (which went from Eclair to Froyo to GIngerbread... not bad!) and have gone to a Bold 9900.

The Bold is a much better communications device for me.

- keyboard is massively better than typing on the screen
- the loudspeaker is both louder and clearer than on the Desire
- instant messenger apps work better for me on BB
- social apps use push more
- I keep a local copy of my PIM stuff instead of trusting everything to the cloud
- trackpad is much easier for precision selection of text than fingers
- BB7 is fairly polished (though admittedly very old-fashioned in many ways)
- full standard PIM suite and Docs to Go included

I my first smart phone was a blackberry curve a few years ago and it was great for the most part, the browser was slow and I did have to do soft resets it seemed often but a good phone, I moved to the EVO for 2 years and now a iphone 4s, Being spoiled by the tons of apps and faster browser along with air print I dont think I could ever go back.....

The BBM is another key feature for me to keep with Blackberry as well. If it didn't have it, then I would maybe more seriously look at other options.
