I think they upped it to 3 months about a month ago. But to be safe no more than 2 months after expiration date.

The $60 plan is adveristed as a 90 day suspend perio before account is closed, whereas the $40 plan doesn't have that advertising so it's safe to assume it is 30 days on that plan.
Give Simple Mobile a call and they will tell you exactly, the hold time isn't long now...most of their customers have moved over to Straight Talk or T-Mobile.
i looked around on their FAQ and i found this
"If the balance remains at $0 for more than 90 days, the mobile number will be deactivated and the customer will lose their mobile number. For live customer service & technical service from a SIMPLE Mobile Phone Call 611. This number will work even if you are suspended. From a non-SIMPLE Mobile Phone, Call 1-877-878-7908. Open (24/7) Tags: My Account, My Plan, Service"
so say i go to canada for 6 months. can i leave it for two months and than just add $25 for the 2 week plan and then get another couple months. can someone with experience with this please confirm. it is possible i may go to canada for 2 months and than over seas
At the moment 3 months are the time frame you have for it, but I recommend you port your number to Google Voice so you don't need to worry about to loose your number, then you can use any new number/carrier to forward your calls and SMS.

Hey pindiscount:
Are you offering anything better than what Calling Mart is currently offering?
$38 for the $40 plan
$57 for the $60 plan
etc
They offer 5% off with a point system, unless you can match that...I doubt anyone would consider refilling at your site. Plus, the most popular prepaid brands currently are: Straight Talk, Red Pocket, Simple Mobile, T-Mobile, and Page Plus...and I only see Simple Mobile being offered. H2O can be had for 5% off as well but they are only a recommendation for pay as you go plans.
This isn't specific to carriers, because there is a limited amount of numbers, a number will be recycled after 90 days. If the number is in a market that has a shortage of numbers it can be recycled sooner.
The cancellation period is 90 days from the last day of service, period, regardless of what plan you were on.
SM seems to recycle numbers rapidly anyway, so if you get a new account or change your number, you'll probably get a number that hasn't been out of service very long at all.
