Prepay to Post Pay - What Happens To Remaining Balance

If I move a pre pay phone to a contract plan can I apply the remaining prepay balance to the post pay account? If yes, all of it or just part of it?

    Thanks

All of the cash balance gets applied automatically, though not immediately. I don't think there is any refund for partly-used monthly plans.

So if I got a prepay phone and put $100 into the no daily access fee, $0.25 per minute, Pay As You Go plan all $100 will transfer to my post pay account when I switch to post pay? No fees or anything? THanks

You may be charged a $35.00 activation fee to open a postpaid account, especially if you want month to month (no contract). It is not clear whether they will let you use your old prepaid phone. Verizon has been getting stricter and stricter about not allowing those on postpaid.

You can't use a prepay phone on an existing postpay line like that. You may be able to keep using the phone if you port the prepay number into postpay as a new line.

Verizon chat said I can use the prepay with my current post pay number and if I port over after my contract expires then there won't be any activation fees. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

Yes you can port your number out of postpay and open a prepay account, but that is not what you were originally talking about doing.

I did this about eight months ago. Took a prepaid I had for six months on VZW PP (Gusto), and Verizon allows it to transfer to a postpaid line after six months. No contract, no activation fee, and the prepaid balance was credited to my postpaid account within one billing cycle. Regular activations did it.
