In the nearly 2 years I've had my EVO 4G I've had neither TEP or insurance of any kind. I have used the free factory HTC warranty which entailed one way shipping costs to Texas. It appears then this has saved me the $8.00 x 24 = $192.00 menus the shipping costs.
- With this new cost of $11.00 x 24 = $264.00 really has me second guessing this option moving forward.
- If wanting to upgrade at least once a year to a new phone this really wouldn't make much sense to me since most do have a second line/phone to use while phone is sent in for warranty.
Having never had "TEP", what is the major advantage in paying the extra $264.00 plus $100.00 deductable?

Just insure with homeowner's rider. Costs me about 30 dollars a year for a $1400 laptop, so it prob would be ~10 for the phone. That covers theft, and so long as you don't drop your phone in the toilet, you'd be good to go.
Sprint doesn't set the price of Insurance, Assurion does.
Oh yes, as if Sprint isn't in collusion with Assurion about the price? You don't think a conversation went on between them with Sprint saying, "Let's raise this by a few more dollars and split it 50-50, sound good to you Assurion?"
I know I'm being a tad cynical and facetious, but come on... Sprint wouldn't bother offering this service to customers if they didn't get some monetary benefit from it.
all honestly if they raise it up to $11, im definite gonna be like the few users out there to get insurance outside source. Time to go shopping(mostly iPhone users since for a long time sprint didnt cover iPhone users)
Gives good reason to look for other means of insurance if your not a person that loses or destroys phones often. I've only used it 3 times in like 6 yrs and the last time was just a bit if greed. In the end, i dont give away my old phones so that would just mean I would be back to using a old phone if push came to shove.
Had my Moto Atrix 4g for a yr now on prepaid and never had to replace it even after a few good drops so I can live without it.
Fios Home Network Evo 4g•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••GS2 4g
Bought this for my evo shift when I dumped TEP. Just click the Coverage Details link to pop them out at he bottom of the page. Deductible is still $100 like TEP but you aren't paying monthly for the service anymore. And even though they list a price for the warranty you can easily find discount codes online, I found a code that took $30 off the price of mine so two years of coverage was only $94.
Come on Lenny. Next you will say clear sets the price of sprints data plans.
Come on Protagonist - You know damn well Assurion Not Sprint sets prices and deductibles not Sprint....Assurion is where you're replacement phone comes from and who bills you the deductible...
