From the looks of the tutorial, he's using a Sprint donor. That probably won't get shut off, as the Sprint 'droids all have no air tank software.

It's a somewhat pointless victory, though, as it's trivially easy to flash to Boost, you get the same (if not better, since you're not being routed through any MVNO proxies) service, Shrinkage and the peace of mind that it's almost impossible to get booted from Boost for "excessive use".

Most people trying to flash CDMA phones to Straight Talk want to be on Verizon's network (far better coverage and 3G speeds), but presently there are no Verizon powered Straight Talk phones without the air tank software - so sooner or later, your cloned phone craps out.

I flashed a fascinate on to straight talk for my friend and its be over six months with no problems. Another person the air tank did update and their service was off. They simply called and straight talk reset account and everything was working! Unless you HAVE to use Verizon towers then flashing isn't really worth it! Nice write up though and its not easy as people think!

Yes I understand were you coming from. Mostly the hard part is Cloning the ESN from a Donor phone.
(side note I know your not aloud to talk about cloning ESN, but it isn't really illegal to talk about it.)

Plus if you own both phones you are free to do what you want with them. You own them not the company.

Ok I have a samsung doner phone. I got the Meid cloned over. I own both phones.
I have the phone put into the thunderbolt.
Same Meid.
But yet when i call out it just beeps.
Help?

If you call *611 it goes to verizon, but its a straight talk phone.
My thunderbolt is already cloned, and number input.
Plus I tried different Prls for straight talk.
Most of them say to buy prepaid minutes with your credit card.
The issue is I think is that, when I try the *22890 it tells me Sim card is already turned on with verizon.
I've already put it in CDMA Only, and CDMA (prl).
No luck.
I've even tried the phone without the LTE card.
I have bars, but i'm not able to call out.
Tired different Roms inculding:
Liquid 3.2
Thunderstick
Miui
Bamf
Infected

So If you know how to get past the lte card or turn on a thunderbolt please PM me.

ok for all those in question Cell Phone Cloning dealing with ESN is not illegal when used in the proper context meaning you legally own both ESN's not snagging them over the airwaves via a monitoring tool of some form then applying the esn to your phone to get free service : Below is exert from the FCC main site :


What Is Cell Phone Cloning Fraud?

Every cell phone is supposed to have a unique factory-set electronic serial number (ESN) and telephone number (MIN). A cloned cell phone is one that has been reprogrammed to transmit the ESN and MIN belonging to another (legitimate) cell phone. Unscrupulous people can obtain valid ESN/MIN combinations by illegally monitoring the radio wave transmissions from the cell phones of legitimate subscribers. After cloning, both the legitimate and the fraudulent cell phones have the same ESN/MIN combination and cellular systems cannot distinguish the cloned cell phone from the legitimate one. The legitimate phone user then gets billed for the cloned phone’s calls. Call your carrier if you think you have been a victim of cloning fraud.

FYI This works as I have many Androids flashed to Straight Talk using the VZW Side. I had a Thunderbolt working as well data mms everything but the data kept goin from 3g to 1x im guessing cause of the 4g and what all u have to do just to get the LTE Side turned off. Reg 3G phones like a Fascinate or HTC DINC or DINC2 work great. They work just like they were on vzw same data speeds n all. only difference's are that the VZW Apps don't work which is fine just use google apps to replace them & the bill is way cheaper plus u get free 411 included
