You better look closely at Sprint's business tactics

    Sprint is crippling Nextel service.

They are DE-commissioning antennas every day which is affecting the now already poor Nextel service.

Sprint claims that it's not gonna happen until April or May of 2013, but they lie, it's been happening over the last year and that's why Nextel service has suffered.

You're paying the same money every month but Sprint has been saving money buy not paying for the antenna service we once had.

They're taking out of the box to make money for themselves. Not only are they not passing any discounts on to the people that pay for service, but dropping antennas is making the service we have much worse, and they're earning more money as they do it!

Landlords own the towers, and sprint pays rent to each landlord where Nextel Antennas live, for each antenna Nextel uses there is a landlord getting paid. Every antenna they stop paying for is money Sprint keeps. This money is the Nextel customers money. Shutting down antenna's is ruining whatever service Nextel customers still have left.

And now New York City is suing Sprint because the money that Nextel customers pay to Sprint for New York City tax, Sprint has been keeping. This is our money that we paid to Sprint for Nextel phone service.

Google it, there is a Four Million Dollar Law suit against Sprint.

Now Sprint is offering free phones to the Nextel customer if you switch over to the Sprint network. That a way Sprint!

Sprint thinks we're stupid, they have to think we're stupid because they're still offering Nextel service along with iDen phones to anyone stupid enough to sign up. Just give Sprint a call or go on the Sprint site, they're still promoting Nextel, still selling iDen phones.

The existing iDen customers are receiving incentives to switch to Sprint with the promise of better service on the Sprint network compared to the iden. Sure they're intentionally crippling the iDen by dropping antenna's.

Are you gonna trust a company that's been stealing from the customers, in more way than one I might add?

Sprint's actions are deplorable and outrageous, think twice about staying with Sprint!

If you stay with Sprint you're as dumb as Sprint thinks you are.

You have firsthand knowledge of the signal getting worse? My i325 still gets the same reception as before.

Yes Sir and it may vary with your local.

Suffolk County, Long Island had 9 towers, now down to 2.

This has been verified by Sprint's engineering dept. I recorded the phone conversations. One rep claimed there 7 towers in my home area but the supervisor said there 9. However both said Nextel's tower count is down to 2.

Now that of course does not include the roaming which means your signal is going through other carriers antenna's.

Haven't you noticed an increase in calls that won't process because all circuits are busy?

Hmmmm well I've got a backup phone if they cut off my Nextel coverage, so far things look k here. Although I would guess you living in a more populated area sprint miscalculated call loads.

Nextel service works fine in the Suffolk area. When they finish removing excess towers the remaining ones will have their power turned up and will cover the county just fine. There will be a lot more than 2 left in place. They were added for capacity and with the few iden users left are no longer needed.Building penetration will be reduced quite a bit however.I do agree that Sprint should stop selling Nextel cold turkey if they want to sunset it as quicly as possible.

I'm on the road in Suffolk county 19 - 12 hours a day. You don't know what you're talking about because the service is terrible. Been this way for months, it's not my equipment, I have 2 325is phones in case one breaks. Building penetration my ***, there's areas where I get nothing now where I poor service before.

Here is a bulletin for you Nextels coverage was always spotty in Suffolk and the north shore of Nassau county.I have used Iden since it was turned on in the Ny metro area. The Iden technology is quirky and a phone can show no service 50 ft from an Iden site.At the pinnacle of Nextels service in the area the full duplex phone service never was reliable and always dropped calls sometimes due to capacity issues other times for no known reason. ITS OLD TECHNOLOGY and going away soon. Its all a moot point because the sunset date for iden draws closer. No sense in arguing about it.

It's obvious you have a connection to Sprint, so whoever reads your rubbish will be aware a a vested interest in promoting BS

I'm not new to Nextel, been there for over 23 years, still have my i1000's.

Nextel on LI is Not was it was last year. Anybody that says otherwise is intentionally lying or just doesn't know any better to notice the difference

If Power could be upped to give better service why the hell wasn't it upped all along?

    Done ....... Sprint sucks!

I have no connection to Sprint. You cant be using Nextel for 23 years. The name Nextel has been around since 1993 not the service in NY.That came a while later after Iden was adopted by Nextel.Do the math.Nextel on LI is still the same and will still work after Sprint removes excess towers and adjusts the power levels and retunes the remaining ones.Sprint has been very accommadating with free CDMA direct connect hardware to migrate Iden customers. They have done all they can.

My goodness. Just switch over from iDEN to Sprint Direct Connect on CDMA for PTT. You're going to have to do it anyways so why not wait. iDEN is a dying technology and I am glad Sprint is shutting it down and refarming that spectrum for useful purposes like CDMA and LTE.

Sprint doesnt need to waste cash it doesn't have to support an iDEN network with about 5 million customers left. The sooner people do it the better the CDMA and LTE network will be.
