Hey, just a quick question,
if you own a japanese Docomo keitai such as the Sharp SH-01D,
is it easy to upgrade from Android 2.3 to 4.0?
Thank you!

iPhone 5 [64GB|Black] | HTC One X LTE | NTT docomo N-06C
question: ... there is like 5% of chances of getting an official Ice Cream Sandwich release for the 007SH, isn't it?
More like 0.05% for the 007SH![]()
Yeah, from what I "read" on some Japanese blog (using Chrome's Google Translate), they seemed to quote an announcement of eligible models, and the 005SH wasn't mentioned. In fact, no models having 1 Ghz procesor were...

Wait for the official release from Docomo
The docomo staff told me it will be available for download to your computer, then you can update through USB or WIFI etc
But honestly...Im not updating my personal phone until they actually release apps and support for 4.0
Right now 4.0 blows

If you wanna do the things in the legal way, there is a version of Google Play which allows you to get access to ALL the apps (from all over the world, without region restriction). However I don't know how would you do to buy an app from another region (if it's the same or not). This is the modded google play: http://www.sendspace.com/file/e5dbxs
If you DON'T wanna do the things in the legal way, I can help you get any app you want :P, it's easy, but I guess we can't obviously talk about this here (due to piracy). However, I can tell you that in most of cases you'll find what you want, just by googling the name of the app followed by "apk".
What support is lacking?
I think the biggest issues apps had with 4.0 at release time of the Galaxy Nexus was the whole thing with menu button sometimes not appearing ,and some incompabilitiies which have since been fixed.
Proper ICS support I suppose means apps following the new UI/design guidelines.. Well that will come in time, but in the meantime I imagine most apps work plenty well, as they already work across multiple versions of Android anyway. Plus ICS gives you access to some exclusive apps like Chrome, or that new twitter client... And GPU acceleration, disabling apps (if Japanese OEMs don't disable that function), and some more consistency in the OS itself.
I look hope AU will announce updates soon for their phones... If Arrows X on DoCoMo will have it, then Arrows Z on AU should be able to have it to. They better update it!
the release was supposed to be in july... can anyone confirm this?? has anyone successfully updated to 4.0??
Because of the problems with the Galaxy S2 4.0 update
S2 was the first phone to get the update and apparently it had huge issues (causing the phone to crash, overheat etc etc)
So they pulled the update until they can figure out why
Im kinda getting worried though....cause they might just say forget it. And go "if you want 4.0, Kishu-henkou to a summer phone"
I don't think that's the reason.
