I think silentjudge is saying that both Net10 and Straight Talk start at $45. But callingmart.com gives a 7% discount on Net10 but not Straight Talk, and doesn't charge sales tax. So Net10 through callingmart.com works out to be about 10 - 15% cheaper than Straight Talk.
The rest of the site still says $50

Why doesn't calling mart carry ST refill cards? Is it because walmart is the main carrier?

Looks like this has been offered at least since April 10 with autopay according to the Net10 website.
https://www.net10.com/direct/ValuePl...=NET10&lang=en
Hey Silent Judge, is your discovery without autopay? I couldn't get anywhere with original link, kept going to tracfone...
Well this is interesting, are they an AT&T reseller? I haven't looked them up but I like to hear about options.
When I go to CallingMart, I only see them selling the $25 and $50 refill cards for Net10. I believe the $45 is only through Net10's website, so you wouldn't be able to use CallingMart.
That is correct. the net10 $45 plan is only available via the web and they charge sales tax anywhere appropriate. In other words, exactly the same as Straight Talk.
If you want to use CallingMart or other vendors to get a discount/avoid sales tax you have to get a face value of $50 refill.
Go GSM! Switch phones on demand.
I saw that CallingMart sells $45 pins under "NET10 Prepaid Wireless Airtime Minutes Refill" instead of NET10 Monthly plans
By contract between Tracfone and Walmart, only Walmart and the straighttalk.com web site can carry ST products/refills. The ST brand was created by Tracfone for Walmart.
I saw this on Slickdeals, so I don't...
To get to the page, go to NET10.com, hover over "Buy Monthly Plans" and click "NET10 Monthly Plans"
It doesn't explicitly mention you need to autopay to get it
Its run by Tracfone, same parent as Straight Talk. Coverage is the same.
On the Net 10 page it says
$45 for Unlimited Minutes Web Exclusive (Regular Price $50)
Web Exclusive means you have to buy through Net10
When you click 'Learn more' on this page it redirects you to the auto refill page.
So you have to do autopay and pay Net10 direct to get the $45 rate (ie same as Straight Talk)
It allows Walmart to advertise the lowest possible rate than everyone else (since Net10 is sold everywhere) but Net10 still to be competitive since as you said its the exact same service in the end.
Hmm, I noticed on Net10's website they have $45 a month for unlimited minutes, $60 for unlimited international minutes, and $25 for 750 minutes.
https://www.net10.com/direct/ValuePlans?app=NET10
I'm assuming the $25 plan doesn't include data... making Net10 basically exactly the same as Straight Talk, right?
Their website is just set up strangely. The only place they mention data at all is when you go to buy a SIM card from them. Other than that the data plans don't appear to be advertised.
How much different is NET10 with the six month deal I got on StraightTalk. I am paid till October. I think my per month cost came below $42.
It looks like Calling Mart does offer the Net10 unlimited plan but it is $49.

So Calling Mart without the sales tax it is about the same price at ST with tax.
Calling Mart does give you 50 cents in points for each month's purchase.
Don't know about the 7% discount codes; those discounts might vary by the month or might not be available in the future.
