Things I missing about my LG800g
1. Large display
2. Predictive text
3. Ability to schedule different ringtones for different days/times
4. More logical organization of menus/icons.

I'm quite happy with the S390G and especially like these features:
1. Wifi
2. 3G browsing
3. Keyboard
4. Battery usage time so far (one week between charges from full to 1 cell) .

Based on what ST Dog wrote, it is better to not run a lithium ion battery down all the way, so I think I'll start charging it before it's down over 50%. See this article on extending lithium ion battery life.

Some apps don't want to download over wi-fi. Like the signed versin of Opera Mini
Bookmark the last page before you click download. Turn off wi-fi, start the browser and go the page you just saved, download/install, then exit the browser.

So how much would the 310K download cost ? Tks

That's if you have the link saved and don't go anywhere else.
Given you have to load the page first before the download, it may be closer to 5units total.

A question about wi-fi downloads:
If, for example, you cannot download Opera mini using wi-fi but have Opera mini on the LG800, can you BT the file to the Samsung without having to go on line and use precious units?

Can I just download the .jar version found here : http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/versions/
to my PC or micro sd card and install from there?

BTW do I have to reformat the microSd card before installation ? Use FAT 32 ?

If anyone tries a image download test, please post your results including image size, units consumed, and browser used. Thanks!

I bought two S390Gs from HSN.com. I've been using one, and bought the second in case a family member wanted it, but they're quite happy with their LG800gs.

Today I decide to try adding the 1500 minute/1year promo of the 2nd unactivated phone to one of the LG800gs using the HSN.com Tracfone promo activation phone number ........... and it worked. The units/time showed up within less than an hour.

No it isn't. Watch carefully. At the very beginning of the session, there is a messsage stating 1 unit deducted. Then transmission begins and the second message gives the units deducted for actual transmission. But the total is 1.0 plus transmission charges.

I stand corrected. I just checked straight browsing using native browser and no upfront 1.0 charge. That charge just seems to be associated with MMS.

Almost immediately as I started browsing, a text came through that said call Customer Care to complete the transaction. I don't have a transaction pending. But I called and the wait is 1 1/2 hours so I opted for them to call me back. I wonder if the text was triggered by browsing.

Not surprising. I did similar with the TMFL on my LG500Gs. I already had activate phones, so I added the TMFL + airtime to them instead of the phones from HSN.

They don't track the IMEI with the order number. So you can give them any phone number you want along with your order number and zip code.
