Thunderbolt Hotspot Dropouts Fixed by SW Update!

I downloaded and installed a copy of the 2.11.605.19 update for the HTC Thunderbolt to test its claim of fixing "issues" with the ("official") wifi hotspot service. I've been using it for about two hours straight and it seems to have actually fixed the constant dropouts I used to get!

It's not quite as rock-solid as a dedicated data card; I'm seeing about 0.1% packet loss on a continuous ping to a reliable host. However, in the whole two hours, it hasn't dropped two ping packets in a row, and there has been no noticeable impact on web browsing, audio streaming, or video streaming.

Since I never saw the hotspot work correctly for more than 15 minutes in a row before, I'm starting to think it's safe to declare the problem fixed!

Good to hear! I wonder when ICS will hit the Thunderbolt.
