    Windows Phone Providers

I have a Samsung Focus S which is a super phone....but only after setting up my account....do they tell me that Air Voice data will not work.

Anyone have any ideas which alternate GSM providers I can use? ..... Thanks in advance

Wow, I wonder why? I know it has very limited network settings. I'd be interested in that question as well since I have an airvoice sim and a Focus i917.

The CSR I got gave me the standard setup.....I then called back, and the 2nd CSR said they do not have support beyond call/text for Windows Phones. In other words.....NO DATA

Here are the settings they gave me:
    APN att.mnvo
    User Name Blank
    Password Blank
    Proxy Server 66.209.11.33
    Proxy Port 80

As you know, there are only 5 APN settings with Windows 7.5 and would appreciate any suggestions
    Thanks

The settings for AirVoice are the same as those for Straight Talk with the exception of the Home URL. Since your phone has no place to enter that setting, the phone is not supported on AirVoice.

Well, then that would be true (I'm guessing) for all Windows phones since I see the same
settings on the Nokia Lumia 710

The home URL just sets the browser default homepage. Lots of phones including all Android phones don't have a home URL field in their connectivity setup screen. It has nothing to due with connectivity per se.

As long as the access point name (att.mvno) and possibly the proxy (66.209.11.33) and port (80) are set data should work. I don't think think the proxy is required but I don't use Airvoice so I don't know for sure. I suspect either a provisioning error or incorrect access point name, proxy and port

Oh boy, guinee pig alert. I might have to activate a SIM and try since I have two phones right now I could test it with.

I have tried those settings on 2 Samsung Windows Phones, and they do not work for data. Voice and text only.

How would AT&T tell whether you are connecting through Straight Talk or some other MVNO which uses the same APN and proxy?

    Should the APN be "att.mvno?"

I wonder the same. But it must be by other means than the Home URL, or perhaps they just don't.

As Yeswap said, the Home URL only specifies the web page to be opened when the browser gets started like in any other web browser. The connection doesn't depend on it.

I think you may have found the cause of the OP's problem.
