Anyone else having problems connecting to whatsapp on bell data network today? It works fine on my iPhone 4s when connected to wifi but cannot seem to connect while on data. I never had a problem until this afternoon. Is there a known problem?

I'm having this probelm too. Keeps trying to connect. At times work, at times not at all. Works fine with WiFi.
Definatly a networks issue according to Whatsapp technical support, see their reply below:
"Thanks for clarifying some of the details about your phone. So that you can better help us track down the issue, please follow these steps to send me your debug info. The Debug Info contains diagnostic information about your phone that helps us understand why you are having trouble, and helps us more quickly resolve your issue. Some Canadian providers (specifically BELL) may be using a network configuration that makes it difficult for WhatsApp to operate, in which case we will need to work fix the app so that it will work with more carriers. "
I have 2Iphones that i use on Bell and Rogers network. I lost my Bell Iphone couple of months ago, so I switched my factory unlocked iphone onto the bell network and got a 4S to use on the Rogers network.
Since I switched my iphone onto the Bell network, I can't seem to be able to connect to Whatsapp. When on Wifi, its fine. Earlier i did have to re authorize my account, and worked for maybe a week, but since then I have also reinstalled the app.....but still it doesn't seem to work.
On the system status, I get error 403. Has anyone here been experiencing this issue. I wud appreciate it if some of u can chime in onto how i can fix this problem and why this cud be occuring.
Thanks
i've been having this issue for the last couple of weeks...same issues as you, on data it just keeps on connecting and connecting then 403(rate limit exceeded)
Just thought I wud re install it again. Cudn't really find anything on the web. Seems to be working fine for now.
Lets see what happens tomorrow.
Not working again.....so basically when i completely close the App, and then reopened it, i can't seem to connect. So i guess that was short lived...
Does anyone know why this is so, is there a glitch on the Bell network, because it certainly works on Rogers.
Same here, I've been with Bell since Nov 2011, and it just started happening since a Apr 2012, I can no longer get on WhatsApp using my data, it'll take 10-15 retries (over 30-60 minutes) so I can connect.
Strangely using WiFi, it connects immediately. This could be due to the latest carrier firmware from Bell, since when I was on firmware 11.0, I didn't have any issues, now I'm on 12.0 (using iOS 5.1).
Same issue on my wife's Bell iPhone 4S. I'm on a Rogers Torch 9800 and all seems to be fine with WhatsApp, regardless of whether it's on WiFi or the cell network. There's another thread about it here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...e-on-bell-data
I'm having same issue now on bell iPhone 4S![]()
so is there any damn solution.......this is really odd. I just switched my iphone 4 to 4S on the Bell Network....and same situation.
This has to be a widespread issue.............
This is crazy...............can people on Bell network please comment on this.
thanks
the funny thing is couple of months ago whatsaap was flawless on Bell network....and I had trouble on the Rogers network. Then I switched my iphone to th efactory unlocked on the bell network....and since then its acting up this way all along.....![]()
Just wondering what phones are u guys using, and if they are unlocked or locked to the Bell Network.
Thanks
