It will be interesting to see if this rings true. I intend to use the data 85-90% for web browsing and the remaining 10-15% for apps such as ebay, wifi finder, gasbuddy, google maps/GPS. I realize you can use websites for gasbuddy and wifi finder but they lack a "find nearby" GPS function.

I just purchased a card at Walmart for a 2nd month and I'm now seriously thinking of selling my phone and moving on. I've never used more then 100MB in a day, but rather not live wondering about being shut off. I didn't think it would bother me, but now it's really bothering me.

It's possible that ST has lowered the data limit from 2gb to 1gb per 30 days because of the increase of users that purchased the ST sim card ($15) and BYOD. But of course ST WON'T inform it's users because they will loose customers.

    Shame on you ST
    What do you all think?!

Not everyone has access to wifi 24/7. Wifi is not like a mobile network. It's not everywhere.

By the way, I was reading an article of a man who has his service cut off and they would not tell him why so he sent a letter to corporate offices. He also said they don't advertise it on their website, but he managed to get the email address to corporate and Customer feedback for tracfone/straight talk. He also said, after them telling him what is done is done, and they dont have the tools to give him his account back and such, he got corporates number and within 15 minutes, the English speaking woman, got his number, and his minutes and airtime back, and credited him extra. He also said "And don't let them tell you that the time you lost is somehow gone forever, because "they don't have the tools to give you more time" (their exact words). They may not, but corporate certainly does .They are:

There was a guy on here I think that complained to the FCC or BBB? that they cut his service off for data use when it says unlimited and that he lost his balance. In a few weeks or something ST called me and apologized and offered his service back or a credit or something. I would complain to those e-mails and the FCC or BBB whichever handles this stuff.

No way. Three cents? The paper and ink they used to cut that check cost more than that. Asinine.

These are all fantastic suggestions, and I think if anyone has any problem with Straight Talk, they should do just that. Don't let companies boss you around when it's clearly advertised as unlimited! As for me, I'm still doing good with them.. but I'll let everyone know if anything changes!

Don't forget the postage. But I they have to do it or else their records of issuing checks won't be balanced and they'd get slapped with another lawsuit for holding back money.

Cool. You could frame it as a reminder to how screwy and wasteful out legal system can be. I LIKE Shakspeare's take on what to do with lawyers... Occupy Straight Talk anyone?

The last I knew the unofficial cutoff was somewhere 1MB and 15GB.

Yep. Depending upon what app you're using, what phone you're using, what town you're in, how saturated the local market is, what day of the week it is, what color your hair is, if you pick your teeth on a certain day of the week, what your toilet paper roll orientation is, what brand of corn flakes you had for breakfast and which pro wrestling star you think is the closest to beating Stephen Hawking at proving Euclidean quantum gravity or establishing the Grand Unification of general relativity and quantum mechanics using M-theory.
