Evo 4G 4.67.651.3 Patched Phone.apk
Thank you! You are the man!
I'll have to look at that, I'm still borrowing the Evo 4G so it shouldn't be a problem.
Since the patched Phone.apk files are also used by people on other CDMA providers, I've had a request for fixing yet another annoying problem with the Epic Touch - MMS. It seems Samsung hardcoded Sprint's proxy in somewhere and the phone completely ignores a custom APN setting telling it not to. This Mms.apk has been patched to completely ignore proxy settings. It's good for Verizon MVNOs (Page Plus, Straight Talk, etc.) and might work on others as well. You still have to go into ##data# and edit your MMS server URL, obviously. No one on Boost should need this, but if you came here because you've got Page Plus and wanted working voicemail notifications, you just got a nice bonus.
Epic Touch EL29 Patched Mms.apk - No Proxy
Also by request, here's the Epic Touch EL29 Patched Phone.apk (same as earlier in this thread) with the "no ascending ringtone" mod. If you can't stand the annoying fade-in / ascending volume effect (which Samsung, in their infinite wisdom decided not to include an option to disable), this version has it removed. Credit to nivron on XDA for the patch location.

Hey Gotan, Thanks a lot for these apks. Is there anyone else that has used these in any roms? Or know of any e4gt roms that have voicemail notifications working?
The ICS patched Phone.apk will be developed when Sprint releases the official ICS build. I do have a personal reason to develop one for the "MeanROM" ICS build, and if I do, I will post it in this thread. I'm not sure if it will work for any other ICS builds, which is entirely the reason why I prefer to wait for the official Sprint release.
I am trying to get voicemail notification working on cloned lg optimus s currently running sprint's stock ZVD. I have tried to restore suggested Rom from the first post. I was able to see new voicemail notification promptly, however, there is force close message for android keyboard. Other than that it would be fixed everything.
Does someone have patched Phone.apk or necessary files that I can replace on my stock rom to make voicemail working? Or modified sprint rom that I can use?
Please help me
Thanks
The Optimus S/V requires a patch to the framework, which necessitates deodexing the entire ROM. Did you wipe everything prior to installing the ROM posted in my original post? Also, don't forget to clear all the Android data files from your SD card, that sometimes causes issues going from ROMs too. (obviously, back up anything you want to keep to your computer, first)
I have try to reinstall as to stated above, this time my phone screen was blank after restored process. I could hear the start up tone and it never came back, so I had to restore with my factory backup. I there any possibility to patch framework file? Maybe I can just replace it later.
Thanks
I've got some good and bad news about the voicemail fix for the OG Epic 4G. The good news is that I've made one - the bad news is it requires a patch to framework.jar (&$#*ing Samsung!), so your entire ROM has to be deodexed. In that respect, it's been developed using the EL30 ROM posted here - so that's what you'll need.
Epic 4G EL30 (Deodexed ONLY) patched Phone.apk and framework.jar
Epic 4G FC09 (Deodexed ONLY) patched Phone.apk and framework.jar
Epic 4G FC09 compatible with Necrosan's Hotspot hack (Deodexed ONLY) patched Phone.apk and framework.jar
Update: Sleep depreivation sucks. Turns out there was a nasty SMS bug that got into the patched framework.jar I previously posted. The link has been updated with the new version. Now for some Red Bull...
Update 2: FC09 versions are posted.

I'm running an FC09 based ROM (The Peoples ROM), but I'll give it a shot.
Thanks for the effort even if it doesn't work, I'm sure trying to support a bunch of different phones with custom phone apps can't be easy.
EDIT:
Not sure if I have lost anything yet (the framework file was a 120k smaller) but it most definitely works.
I uninstalled VM Notifier (the crutch app) before installing the patched files, rebooted and installed the two patched files then rebooted back into android.
No FC when I run the phone app (first hurdle), all features/functions/contacts (for phone) appear intact (second hurdle), left a VM for myself and within seconds I had a notification. Tapping the notification even launched the phone and called VM.
Major thanks!
EDIT2:
Crap! Just noticed you posted a revised version. I'll do the dance again, but based on the first act I have great confidence it will work.
EDIT3:
New version installed, seems to work just fine but...
One problem I noticed with the first version while getting ready to install v2 was that the custom power/reboot menu appears hosed. It doesn't respond to touches and after a short period of time looks like it crashes and does a soft restart (service and other connections lost, media scanner runs again).
I confirmed that it also happens with v2, so I'm assuming it's something in the framework that is different because of the custom power menu.
Thanks for your effort, now I need to figure out which I want more - native VM notifications or a functional power menu.
