Guys, if you insist using b as in Byte, then you need to be consistent and we'll take your kbps as in kilo Byte per second. If you don't want it, then don't say 500mb, say 500MB (as there is no such thing as mb). One "b" cannot sometimes mean Bit and sometimes mean Byte. It confuses everyone.

Would you sell you cellphone to me asking in dollars and I pay you in said amount but in cents?

Fortissimo, ya bits and bytes are confusing sometimes. There should be 1 universal unit. First time I thought I was suppose to get 8 times the speed I was getting from my isp but I finally figured after some research.

Anyway, these are the speeds I get with Mobi like 24/7, pretty slow I think, 45kbps which is almost unuseable:

Well, I just tried Belus LTE. I was blown away by the ping and speeds! 31 ms ping and 37Mbps down / 10 mbps up!!! The web pages load like cable internet!!!

We absolutely NEED that speed increase to compete!!!

Mobi to complete with Bell LTE? Lets first start with the "supposed" speed increase that's coming this summer before we jump the gun.

For Mobi to compete, speed is one thing but so is reception and coverage and it is those two things they are struggling with which is far more important. Whats speed when you have no signal.

Well, Bell LTE is on 1700 AWS as well.. so it should have the same "problems" with indoor reception. Um... I dont see that. Bell LTE actually works inside most places I have been to.

With Mobi's technology, they can easily give us half that speed .. 21 Mbps or even 42 Mbps is possible with HSPA+. (although my phone doesnt support it )

Don't forget Bell has the ability to use the large amount of towers they have at their disposal to broadcast LTE. More antenna's and better tower placement goes a long way.

When I tried Rogers LTE several months back I was disappointed by the reception. In my house beside the windows I was pulling in 1 bar of LTE and outside on the street on Don Mills and Lawrence I was pulling in 1 -2 bars max which was very disappointing.

Rogers LTE has some damn good plans. $50 for 10GB with a phone subsidy is quite a deal. ! Not sure if you can get it just by itself, but since LTE latency is amazing, you can use voip all the time! (VoLTE is voip .. right?)

Think on the bright side, you can download 24/7 without ever hitting the 100 meg wall in 15 minutes, lol. I have a much bigger problem than this. I have no signal a lot of the time. I dream of being able to d/l at 0.36 Mbps all the time.

I have 100Mbps at home and 1Gbps at work. Downloading 24/7 is the least of my worries, I have got no time to download for hours :-) I would like to be able to do my work fast when I am on the road. I barely use 500MB - 1GB. Oh and I mostly use my phone for.. phone calls! So, thats one reason why I am with mobi. I wont go broke calling people!

@will888, bug mobi execs and they will probably put some priority to the tower near your house!

I emailed feedback and still waiting for feedback. I have high-speed internet at work and at home as well. Notwithstanding, it would still be nice to have a home signal all the time on my phone. I am probably one of the few customers to see the official home zone shrink on me lol.

I got my feedback. My situation is viewed as expansion, not filling in coverage holes. There are no plans to expand eastward in the GTA, not even a single tower. I did not get very a good explanation why the coverage map did not reflect reality. I guess I will be looking for an opportunity to switch to wind. I hope there will a nice sale at back to school time.

Does mobi even have plans for LTE? It would be great if mobi could double the cap to 6mbit while alleviating congestion problems with LTE so we could actually have 6mbit at all times. 6mbit is a good place to cap being the original speed for high speed dsl and cable in Canada.

Right now, 99% of the time I never reach the bandwidth cap, it's just plain slow.
When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Once they get spectrum, yes. Mobi is also changing its present HSPA to HSPA+ 21mbps

What I am worried about is the tower density...
