Maybe Microsoft should hire Woz as a spokesperson. Has to be better than Jerry.

After alerting his Twitter followers that he was intent on securing one of Nokia’s new Lumia 900 smartphones, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak has revealed what he thinks of the company’s new handset and the Windows Phone platform as a whole — and it’s overwhelmingly positive.
The Woz is known as a man who loves his mobile tech, so it was no surprise that he would obtain Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone smartphone when it launched to see how it operated.

Despite being an Apple man (regularly queuing outside his local Apple Store for every new phone and tablet launch), Wozniak has also been snapped visiting Google’s Mountain View HQ, in order to pick up a brand new Galaxy Nexus.
In a recent podcast call with aNewDomain.net’s Dan Patterson, Todd Moore and Gina Smith, Wozniak spoke about how Microsoft had made its platform intuitive, easy to use and most significantly “beautiful”, adding that “compared to Android, there’s no contest.”
While Apple’s iPhone still appears to be his favorite device, mainly due to the wealth of apps available on the App Store, the former Apple executive has noting but nice things to say about his new Microsoft-powered device:
WPCentral pulled together a few quotes from the call:
“Just for looks and beauty I definitely favor the Windows Phone over Android”
“I’m just shocked, I haven’t seen anything yet that isn’t more beautiful than the other platforms”
“Intuitive and beautiful”
“I just really like the experience and will be carrying the Windows Phone everywhere”
The Apple co-founder later followed up the call with a comment on the original article, providing more context to his thoughts:
I did give my opinion that the Windows Phone had superior visual appearance and operation cues that were also more attractive. In my opinion, it sets the mark for user interface. I would recommend it over my Android phones given that it doesn’t yet have the breadth of apps.
I surmise that Microsoft hired someone from Apple and put money into having a role in the UI and appearance of some key apps. I also surmised that Steve Jobs might have been reincarnated at MS due to a lot of what I see and feel with this phone making me think of a lot of great Apple things.
With Nokia facing an uphill struggle to boost sales in a market dominated by Samsung and Apple, Wozniak’s endorsement comes at an important time not only for the Finnish company but for Microsoft, as it attempts to claw back market share from iOS and Android.
Nokia CEO Stephen Elop has already commented on Wozniak’s new purchase:
@stevewoz Welcome to the #Nokia Lumia 900 family!

Microsoft and Nokia have been working hard to secure more high-profile apps for the Windows Phone platform, something that both Wozniak and casual users admit limit the impact of devices running the operating system.

Cue the fandroids!“Just for looks and beauty I definitely favor the Windows Phone over Android”
That's fine. I don't use an android phone because I think it looks good, although its definitely not ugly. I wouldn't mind trying out a windows phone but I already know that I like android. I'm not going to spend more money on a phone I might like until I stop liking my current OS. It only took me a few months of having an iphone to hate iOS.
looks and beauty aren't much good unless i want to stare loving at my phone all day. personally, i want to use my phone for practical purposes (eg using it as a phone, using apps, etc) - and for that, windows phone isn't much good,
looks are transitory and people who aren't totally superficial become bored of looks after a very short time
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
Woz says the opposite is true. I guess you didn't care to read the part where he calls it "intuitive" and that he "would recommend it over [his] Android phones given that it doesn’t yet have the breadth of apps."
And what does he know? It's not like he was a co-founder of one of the most successful tech companies of all time. Wait...
Trollers gonna troll!
We all know that the answer to your question is rhetorical![]()
no, woz said this:
“Just for looks and beauty I definitely favor the Windows Phone over Android”
i was simply elaborating on what he said
it's a bit silly of him to compare, especially considering that WP doesn't have any functionality yet. it's a bit like saying a Hello World app is intuitive.I guess you didn't care to read the part where he calls it "intuitive" and that he "would recommend it over [his] Android phones given that it doesn’t yet have the breadth of apps."
let's wait until it's anywhere near as full featured as android. then you can wake me up.
whatever woz says i care not. the sales figures and the general public disagree with him
You're caught up on the "looks" portion. Go read his quotes again and see if you can't decipher any other things.
You've never used one, how do you know WP doesn't have any functionality?
If you don't care what Woz said, you're trolling, pure and simple. Look at the thread title again. This discussion isn't about sales figures or what you generalize to be the public's interests.
dumb. You've never used one, how do you know WP doesn't have any functionality?
for the same reason i know that putting my hand in the fire is gonna frazzle it. are you saying that they only way i can know is to try it myself?
if i read it a million times it doesn't change anything. If you don't care what Woz said, you're trolling, pure and simple. Look at the thread title again. This discussion isn't about sales figures or what you generalize to be the public's interests.
woz is a nice guy, but i couldn't give a hoot what he says.
He speaks the truth - WP7 is light years ahead in UI
High profile endorsements is something marketing should look at...it goes a long way
The fact that you're in here posting implies the complete opposite. He said something negative against Spamdroid and here you are.
Google obviously felt threatened even before Woz opened his mouth. Didn't they release design guidelines to try to get developers to improve their apps? Even Google knows their OS is fugly...
i'm not sure how you work that one outThe fact that you're in here posting implies the complete opposite. He said something negative against Spamdroid and here you are.
I played with a WP7 phone over the weekend. I have to say that it's really not bad at all. A few rough edges, but overall a pretty pleasant experience. I know that the Android fans are not going to like it, but Android is pretty much a clone of iOS. The same apps arrange in a grid metaphor, so there's really not much to distinguish it from iOS. On the other hand Windows phone and WebOS have completely different design philosophy and if I'm ever tired of my iPhone I would definitely give either of those a try. Now, is it too little, too late? I think it will depend on how much traction WP8 is going to get over the next year.
