Works flawless for me, in fact my battery life is up quite a bit.
Compass doesn't work correctly, it's got north point east.
That said, GPS is fine, locks on much faster than GB.

I keep getting stuck on 1% of the upgrade process. Now trying a firmware emergency recovery, but same deal - stuck at 1% for about 20 minutes now.

Any advice, folks? Thanks in advance...

Having signal issues with ICS on brand new T989, device doesn't switch to wifi automatically, compass is off by 90 degrees and battery life is horrendous. Just picked the phone from all night charging, battery went down 5% in 2 minutes just checking email.

I'm considering restoring to 2.3.6... or wait for the official CM9.

The battery issue you describe is pretty common to most smartphones:

Could someone explain the update process a bit better ? I've opened Kies and basically it connects to my wireless router.

NVM.... I guess I need Kies installed on my computer ......

FWIW, my battery issues are resolved after a couple of full cycles. Been running for nearly 13hrs with regular use including GPS nav. Radio issues seem gone too, only remains the faulty compass.

Word is Samsung will release the ICS source this week which means an official CM9 release is coming up shortly after.

I'm stuck in a bit of a loop, though from some of the comments maybe I don't want to upgrade.

I downloaded Kies for the first time to my Win 7 PC. Connect the phone via USB and Kies detects it, then pops up a window asking if it should update firmware. I say yes, a "Prepare for firmware upgrade" appears, at which point the phone disappears from Connected Devices.

When "Downloading firmware upgrade components" reaches 100%, I guess Kies realizes there's no phone in Connected Devices and says to connect a device or troubleshoot connections. It then detects the phone again, pops up the "Upgrade?" window again, and the whole story repeats. Eventually the phone screen locks and Kies reports "Connection Locked" instead of asking to upgrade, since it can't read the phone (I infer).

The first few times of this, Medscape or WebMD launched (!) so eventually I uninstalled those apps.

Is there something else I should be doing? I did a backup of the phone with no problem except it took a long time (felt like 15-20min though it might not have been). The phone is still working fine (as far as I can tell) under Gingerbread, so I guess the upgrade isn't even starting.

    Thanks!

Upgraded on Monday and all is fine. Only problem is that I can't find how to enable the unlock to camera feature (ie. open camera from the lock screen).

    Any ideas?

Go to security and it should be there. That's where it is on HTC devices

Also on a side note it kills the battery in my phone when I have it enabled.

Nope, nothing under Security or Lock Screen. I wonder if it isn't available on the SIIX or maybe it's because I'm using ADW Launcher?
