I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger
The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry.
Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T.
If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.
With these new awful shared plans.. the answer is simply, yes.
Thanks for the info, I just sold it yesterday! I think the news of the Share Everything plans has increased the amount of people wanting to lock in unlimited and their plans before June 28... worked out well for me, sold one and still have two for myself. Now I'm just going to wait till they start throttling 4G for unlimited customers and I'm off to prepaid...
Yes I am absolutely sure of having read that. I believe it was in the slideshow for employees where I read it. If you read through the threads and posts, you'll see that Verizon CS, in-store, phone and online have all given conflicting answers to concerned customers. So I'd say don't rely on the AOL team's pronouncement quite yet. It sounds as if Verizon sprung this on their employees in the same breath as they released it to the rest of world, leaving lots of confusion and questions.
Might want to move that date up at least two or three days to beat the subsidized upgrade cutoff on the 26th. The new owner might pay more if they complete the transfer in time to also have the option of preordering a SGSIII at the subsidized price.
The 26th -- NOT the 28th -- is the cutoff for subsidized upgrades without losing unlimited data.
EDIT:
I've been tracking down that reference from a post in another thread, as well as a phantom article. It appears to be an error. My bad.

I'm going to pre-order the S3 today and enslave myself for the next two years.
Any last thoughts, comments, or concerns I didn't think of before proceeding?

Okay, but seriously, any comments? This is the whole point of this thread. There must be something else people can say.
As I see it there's no point in selling the unlimited data plan because I don't want to give up my number. So if I'm sticking with it, is it worth doing the early upgrade to get the subsidized S3?
I have a Droid X now which I love so I'm not in any huge rush to upgrade, but if the S3 is as great as the reviews say I will take the opportunity to get it for $200 now.
Yeah, probably the best deal you'll get in the foreseeable future. And your X won't last forever.
Just get a replacement 4G phone from Cowboom.com for $120-$300(Thunderbolt, Maxx, Bionic, Stratosphere. Better than signing your life away for another two years. And yes I was serious about the article, if you have no qualms about having it dictated to you how you should hold a phone that you pay $200+ for and don the shackles for two years, then go ahead and pull the trigger, but just remember that you're gonna have to keep that phone and pay through the nose for a new one anyway (unless you find a steal on eBay or Cowboom).

"...and it won't work as good as it should do."
This guy's getting paid for that kind of writing? !
Anyway, I went in yesterday and re-upped for the SGSIII -- blue 32, hut1! -- @ $180 ($250 + $30 - $100ne2).
Logic is that it's my last chance to use the ne2 and if I don't need the S3 I can always sell it to defray the outright cost of a real QWERTY, should one materialize out of the ether, or to cover the ETF if I start to suffocate.
I also have the DX. But it's gone straight to hell in a handbasket since I foolishly let it OTA to 605. Now that the fallback phone 'is in the mail' I'll see if I can flash it back to 602 and maybe play around with root some. Good thing I didn't take 621, vzw has booby-trapped that one so root bricks your phone, for real.
I don't plan to open the SGSIII box until return-to-stock is well tested. AFAIK the D4 still doesn't have full restore functions. Doesn't auger good -- oops, I mean -- well ...
