Exactly. I'm glad someone can do the math. It seems like people have some emotional attachment to unlimited, when in reality, it should only be what's the economic best option. At that point, you'd have to look at what all that data is worth. Wasting mobile data like crazy isn't worth $2K of overages or lost subsidies to most people, and managing data use back into reality is probably a much better option, and if the occasional overage happens, it happens, and you still make out way ahead.
That's partly what Verizon is counting on, but the customer gets the upside of all the upgrades, and possibly some savings per month on the shared data, depending on how it's structured, as well as better plans for other people in the family who might be using only a few hundred MB a month or less and are now forced to get the 2GB/4GB plan for $30.
