How do I consolidate 2 cell phones to 1 phone via Google Voice?
Hello,
I currently have two cell phones, 1 work, 1 personal. The work phone is a Sprint Android, the personal is an AT&T iPhone. I want to try and consolidate both numbers onto my iPhone in order to save money and also because I find the Sprint service to be degrading and not being worth keeping anymore.
Here are a few conditions I would need to make sure work before I attempt this:
I need to be able to make calls from my cell phone so that the receivers caller ID shows whichever number I want to show, and I need to be able to send and receive text messages from distinct #s. I need to be able to use my car bluetooth with either number.
Is there a way I can do this by porting my sprint # to google voice and use the google voice app on the iPhone? I'm aware I can do this with Line2, but I would like to try a free method.
Should work doing as you described. The only thing you might have a problem with is initiating a call in your car via bluetooth to the Google Voice number. Not sure how that would work. I'd think that your bluetooth would just use the default dialer which wouldn't be the Google Voice app.
But everything else should work using the iPhone GV app and porting your number to Google Voice.
