Basically, this come out to whatever the price Apple charges + 25$ HUP fee, give or take 5 dollars.
The other catch, is that the phone will be locked to Fido, and I will need to pay another 50$ to get it unlocked, so real costs for me would be 500$+ tax+220 FD for 16 GB model, and 730$ +tax+220 FD for the 64GB model.
So, if you are looking for the unlocked iPhone, the way I understand it, if you have more then 85 Fido dollars (50$ unlock fee + 25$ HUP fee + taxes on both), it is cheaper to buy an iPhone through Fido, and jump through the hoops to get it unlocked. Otherwise, it is more cost effective to buy it from Apple directly.
With Fido, you end up saving however many Fido dollars you have - 85$, but it takes time and phone calls to get this done, and your time might not be free....
The store didn't mention about a 3 year contract? That's strange.
