Call quality bad on triumph, the service or the phone?

People who I talk to on my triumph complain that my voice sounds muffled and hard to understand. I hear them fine though. Is this because of the vm service in my area or is it the low signal strength of the triumph? Just wondering whether I should upgrade to the evo to fix this problem or dump vm altogether. Thanks.

Do you have a case on your Triumph? Apparently, lots of cases cover up the noise-cancellation thing on the phone, or so I've heard. If you have a case, take it off and see if there's a difference.

If people are saying you sound "muffled", that's usually not how you sound with bad reception..so its most likely either the phone itself, or the case(if you have one)

I know from personal experience that nobody can understand a word I'm saying when I have the speaker phone on. Also, sometimes when you clutch the phone between your ear and shoulder, then too nobody can understand what I say.
I'm convinced its the phone. Dozens of phones that I have had so far, this is the only one with this problem.

I think it's the phone also. I've been told I sound the same, never have these issues with any other boost or Virgin phone..
