Using all zeros as suggested would solve the latter.
I've used various iphones locked and unlocked, on different accounts, on the 10 cents a minute plan and currently the $25 a month plan, maybe other gophone plans too. Calling 611 from an iphone has never resulted with threats of banishment. *Some* sims that are actually branded as "gophone" might be locked to the phone they were activated in for six months. This can be avoided by using a standard ATT sim, regular size or microsim. These are easily found on ebay for a buck or three. If a Gophone branded sim gives you trouble just lose it and get a free replacement at an att store. I've always gotten a regular sim as a replacement and never been charged, turned down, or had to visit more than one store to do this.
Go ahead and use your iphone 4s on any of the gophone plans except the $50 unlimited and be aware you can't buy data on the 10 cent a minute plan. Whether mms works without data I don't know, my guess is no.
