I usually go to a corporate store for sign ups or related issues because of the problems I've heard from dealers, not saying all dealers are bad but it only took a few bad experiences to create a bad name for themselves.

The Kennedy location was my closest corporate store and let's say it wasn't all that close either but the quality of service was great. Nowadays I'd have to drive 40 minutes to the nearest corporate store which is in Mississauga.

On the other hand with Wind, there is a corporate store is all the major malls which adds to the convenience factor. I understand Mobi trying to cut costs since sure we don't need hundreds of corporate stores but having a couple in more convenient locations for the rest of your customers would be nice.

I'm wondering where the corporate stores are located in other Mobi markets?
Are they in the burbs or in downtown/central locations?
No doubt its more expensive real estate downtown but what's the point of having corporate stores that are a PITA to get to ?

LMAO check your calendar - the Metro Toronto amalgamation was FOURTEEN YEARS AGO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amalgam...8_amalgamation

Clearly, your definition of "not that long ago" is different from mine.

So, getting back the main topic, does anyone have solid evidence for the existence of a corporate Mobi store within Toronto?

Time like just about everything is relative. Perhaps I'm a little older than you are and 14 years is not such a long time.
These days if I can remember it, it's not that long ago :lmfao:

I think the deafening silence you hear is the location of the Toronto corporate store.

Hmmmm - I turn 60 at the end of the year so don't be too sure about being older. For me, 14 years feels like a lifetime ago.

Yup it's looking like there's no corporate store within Toronto. How strange not to have one in Mobi's biggest market.

Its not a corporate store.. but it is one of 5 GTA service centres.

I'm trying to figure out whats the major advantage of going to corporate vs a dealer. I've been working at the Kennedy location for the past few months and have not received any complaints about the store now being run by a dealer. If a dealer can operate at the same standard and capacity of corporate, what's the difference?

4 of the staff are former Mobilicity corporate staff and all corporate policies remain the same.

and FYI... as of May 1st, corporate locations now charge a $10 processing fee for warranty and an additional $10 if you require a loaner.

The only corporate store in "Toronto" zone is the Mississauga location.

There are obvious differences between corporate and dealer owned stores, lets not even go down that route.

Time for a name change? Congrats on acquiring the corporate store.

Have to say though, I don't agree with the fee for processing warranties at all.

What, are you walking there? It doesn't really matter since apparently they're not corporate anymore, but Kennedy and Ellesmere is right off the Scarborough RT. That's about 45 minutes from Yonge station. It's a big city, not everything is going to be within walking distance of where you live.

And FWIW Scarborough is as much Toronto as North York, Etobicoke, and yes, even downtown. At one time Yonge Street was the western border of the city and Front Street was the waterfront, but you wouldn't say that the CN tower is barely a part of Toronto. Borders change, get over it.

It's just silly not to have a corporate store in the downtown core. Even if Scarborough is truly a part of Toronto, the vast majority of Torontonians are much more likely to pass through downtown on a regular basis than they are through Scarborough. And Mississauga is just absurd.

    A rhetorical question for you:

'Why is it called the GTA?'

When you want to argue about semantics, definitions and boundaries rather than the central question in the OP am I really the one who needs to "get over it"?

Haha that's a first! 14 years not that long? I hope people know what they are getting into when they lend you something for a 'little while' LOL!

    Thanks for the update.

Are there any service centres in the vicinity of downtown Toronto?

It's just plain wrong having to pay for warranty service.

In BC people are covered under the Sale of Goods Act. Not sure about other provinces.
