    Verizon Android Phones on ST??

So since the Galaxy Proclaim is on Straight Talk, i wonder if this is a sign that more android phones will come to Straight Talk using Verizons network. I hope so not that i would mind PagePlus but i like to see the offerings on ST with Verizon networks.

Well a phone called the "Galaxy S Showcase" is on Straight Talk's 'activate phone' page, but we don't know what network it's going to be on, there are also 2 other CDMA phone that show up, but at least one has to be on the Sprint netwotk only as it's a copy of the PCD Venture that Virgin Mobile carries, the other is the Huawei Ascend 2.

I emailed customer service and said that I was interested in buying the new Samsung Galaxy Proclaim, but NOT if it was on the Sprint network. I asked if they could tell me what network it would be running on. This is the reply I just received.

    Dear Valued Customer:

Thank you for your interest in Straight Talk Wireless. We are responding
    to your recent inquiry.

We do apologize but we cannot divulge any information in regards to
this. However, Samsung Galaxy Proclaim is not supported by SPRINT.
This type of Android phone has no SIM Card attached. To ensure that the
phone will work on your area, we may need to ask for your ZIP Code to
check if it is compatible on your local calling area.

So it it's not Sprint - then maybe Verizon????? I hope!

That CSR doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. Sprint and Verizon doesn't use SIMs. Only AT&T and T-Mobile use SIMs. Also, I doubt Verizon would allow smartphones on prepaid. They want the high-value smartphone customers under contract.
Straight Talk unlimited everything plan for $45

Ugh, yet another thread about this phone. The usual research has been done, it appears the phone does run on Verizon. As it requires the $45/mo plan, I'd venture a guess it has no "air tank" software. This should get the cloning folks all excited.

The phone does work on Verizon.

It is likely this phone will mimick Verizon's new LTE plans, so expect around 1-2GB data and then throttled.

For the people who live in an area where the only choices are bad AT&T coverage or Verizon, it's a welcome addition.

(I could personally care less, I live in an area where Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint all work fine and you can shop on price and data speeds.)

Me too Verizon is the only one I haven't had so far AT&T is my favorite it would be sprint but their small coverage is a killer to me.
