Does NOT mean that ASURION will honour the contract.
So what if it says "roadside assistance" When you call for a TOW they look up your phones number with Telus.. if Telus removes that list guess what! No TOW!
So if Telus discontinues it the words of some snot nosed pimple faced teen working the CSR cattle feed line with mean zilch...
he he heI do hope though that ASURION does honour the rest of the year because I just signed up again with a fresh account to get the full year.
I just signed up w/ the Roadside Assistance and my expiration is now extended 365 days and amount withdrawn of $40. I will wait to see if they will cancel and refund my amount later on, but I doubt.
Plus AahH did not respond to why he could sign up for it when he told the rest of us that we cannot, said Telus would refund us later on (cancelling it). If AahH can get it with a fresh account, I am not understanding why my account for years in good standing cannot sign up with this. I just think AahH is trying to confuse us here.
Ok, an update.
After waiting for way over a month, I finally received the card and the package for the Roadside Assistant in the mail. So they did NOT cancel me (as AahH said they would).
Fast forward a few months (i.e. within last week), Telus sent me a note saying that the Roadside Assistance will be discontinued, and they would refund a pro-rated portion back to my account in mid Nov. They also have an alternative with another provider, but no longer selling it via Telus, but with some special arranged discount for Telus customers though (name forgot, but it is not CAA / BCAA).
I checked my account, no refund yet, and also no change in the expiration date on the account. I will update the thread later if I see an update, especially if there is a change in the expiration date!! (which I doubt, but oh, well, AahH did say they would refund and void the whole thing and thus wouldn't give any extension by default).
So strangely they are only discontinuing it in Nov, while AahH repeated said that was "done" in July's time. How could Telus' arrangement with Asurion be any different for one Telus' customer than another? It cannot be.
Yes, @kflack, I have checked my account last month (about middle of the month, after they said they would credit it), and indeed I received a partial refunded, approx the pro-rated of the $40. charge. My expiration did not change back at all, still summer next year.
But this is NOT what AahH said at last, he said the full refunded would be given, and would gain no new expiration as the service did not even get started at all. If I would have believed AahH then I would not have tempted this and would have gone back to the same old $100. voucher like in past years. I tried my luck, and indeed lucked out. But AahH had not come back to add anything new to the story, so nobody but AahH had the "subscribe, and immediately cancelled and refunded" as his report in the summer. Thus I called doubt to his story.
