Seems Wal Mart is getting into the prepaid wireless internet service. Saw this at the West Lebanon, NH location, but no cards, and I am not crazy about the packages. No idea what network it’s on.

The balance never expires if used once per year. Is that a typical feature of mobile hotspot offerings or is this a special advantage?
I have to think that putting is out was a mistake by a Wal Mart employee.. I stopped at 6 Wal Mart stores in southern New Hampshire yesterday and this was nowhere to be found in any of them. Add the fact that there has been no press release about it (at least I have not seen one) and that there were no cards, or brochures on it, and it just looks like a mistake.
Yeah I can't find mention, even scant mention or traces, any where. Perhaps it is a trial run to gauge interest or something they are planning to announce and release in the very near future, and some one jumped the gun. I guess we'll see.
If the balance rolls over and you can keep it alive with just $10/month or less I may be very interested.
I found this on the walmart online store but I couldn't find a store where to get it. The URL mentions "TruConnect" so that may be the provider of the service.

Please remember that Walmart is a huge retailer and has companies making products specifically for them with specific name brands that you will never find any info on it over the web.
Consider these like ghost / generic brands that are made for Walmart and only sold at Walmart ...
iPhone 4S on AT$T: Unlimited Talk, Text & Web w/NO throttling….
iPhone 4 on Boost Mobile: Talk, text, MMS & 3G Data .. since 6.11.12
If you can't see that todays society has gone to sh*t, then you ARE the problem or PART of the problem…
If so, it looks like Sprint coverage.

Virgin mobile uses that same hotspot device and so does Verizon it's CDMA so my bet is sprint however vm offers unlimited data.
Ugh TruConnect is Sprint. Hoping for something else...
The "never expires if used once a year" is a BIG selling point and that's why the cost per MB is more expensive. Same with cell phones. PAYG is more expensive per minute but you generally get more time to use it.. Not a new concept as far as price vs. what you get.
I think this is a good offering for those who don't need a great volume of data, but like to have it available with as long a time to use it as possible. Personally, I have my T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile phones to create a hotspot from but this is great for those who don't have that available.
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.
