Strange screen when trying to power on Android..

    Hello,

This just started happening out of nowhere... When I try to power on my Motorola Triumph (virgin mobile) it shows the Motorola logo then goes to an all black screen with green text saying:

    HW Mode; = FD1
    HW Version =PR5
    SW Version =FD1-209B
    RF band id =CDMA_BAND_01

    ProductID =FD1M1000208901
    MEID num = blah blah
    ESN num = blah blah
    BT Addr = blah blah
    Wifi Mac = blah blah

    Battery ADC = 4100

    Any ideas?! TIA!

Doesn't sound good. Maybe a hardware failure. Looks like the type of message shown when a desktop/laptop computer hard disk goes bad. See if there is hard reset option in the phone manual. You might lose any stored data and/or contacts.

You might post to the Motorola forum for help. Good luck.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

I'd try taking the battery out for about fifteen minutes, then put it back in and try booting again. If that didn't work, I'd try a factory reset.

Tried it. I don't know how to do a factory reset without being able to boot the phone up

    A quick googling found this:

If you are unable to navigate through the menu to perform a factory data reset, you can follow the steps outlined below:

Press and hold the POWER key and both volume keys
Continue to hold all 3 keys until an exclamation point and a little green android robot appear
Press the HOME key to display the menu
    Navigate using the volume keys
    Select Wipe data/factory reset
Use the BACK key to select
Scroll down to Yes delete all user data
Use the BACK key to select
    Select reboot system now

That doesn't work since it goes from the power off straight to the screen it freezes at. Thanks for the reply, though, I appreciate everyone's efforts thus far.

In that case I'd say there's almost certainly a hardware problem. This is like not being able to get to the BIOS settings on a PC.

My mistake; I was able to get to the reformat screen. I tried reformatting and then rebooting and it did the same exact thing.

One thing worth mentioning is when I reformatted it said:
    Formatting DATA...
    E:
    "userdata" wipe sucessfully!
    Formatting CACHE:...
    E:
    "cache" wipe successfully!
    Data wipe complete.
    E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcbl1k1p1 (or /dev/block/mmcb1k1)
    (No such file or directory)

I see there's options for "Download nb0 from sdcard" and "apply sdcard:update.zip"
Is it possible for me to maybe download something from my laptop to my sdcard and apply it to fix this?
    I have a 32gb sdcard

That would seem to indicate either a problem with either the internal storage or sd card. You could try booting it without the sd card if you haven't already.

Anyone with a working Triumph care to tell us what /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 is on that device?

Although since it says p1 I strongly suspect it's the internal storage, as your external SD card would only have p0 unless you started messing around with Apps2SD scripts and the like...
