Most prepaid smartphone subscribers replace their phones every 12 to 18 months. That is one of the advantages of prepaid service. You can update your device as frequently as you want without penalties or CON-tracts to worry about. These new high-end devices are being introduced at extremely appealing price points. This might be further indication of a bigger change that continues to develop in the way wireless service is sold in the US.Originally Posted by 503ducati
Prepaid wireless may soon reach a point where it will simply be an optional method for consumers to obtain a device and service from a carrier. This also seems to be the perfect moment for Sprint to reintroduce SPRINT PREPAID featuring an extended coverage area and access to roaming along with access to the current device and service line-up.

Operating without a contract makes you far more valuable.

I've compromised with a discount on Sprint postpaid($62.49) BUT my State's Taxes/Fees are literally the lowest in the nation. This can add up to 18%+ to a wireless cellular bill. I think often these additional cost savings included into flat rate prepaid plans are too often overlooked. In other words depending on which State one lives in the savings could be even bigger on prepaid.

The Verge has posted some more pictures of the Evo V 4G here: http://www.theverge.com/2012/5/8/300...t-photos-video
(I also updated the first post to reflect this.)
Just curious, since the screen isn't 3d could you find a replacement 3d screen for the Sprint version and change it out? Or would the software probably not support it?
Just saw an update to that Verge article:
"Update 2: Despite Virgin Mobile's site and PR making absolutely no mention of it, we discovered that the HTC Evo V 4G is identical to the Evo 3D in every way, including the 3D screen. Check out our hands-on for more details on Virgin's new hardware."

Well that's good news indeed!Originally Posted by exuberance

Your village called, they want their idiot back.
Oh man.. That's slick! $299 is a GREAT price point for the phone too. I'm happy to hear that WiMAX will not be throttled either - WiMAX was built to be a mobile broadband service and can handle it, unlike 3G CDMA. I'm not a big fan of Sense and have specifically avoided HTC phones on T-Mobile because of it, but I understand the latest iterations of Sense have been getting better and less bloated.
I'll probably pick up an Optimus Elite and stick with my $25 plan til the next new 4G phone comes out. I'm not ready to part with my $25 plan yet.
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.
