It's the same here in Northern California. USCC is still the coverage leader here in Rural Service Area 344 (Mendocino, Lake Counties in Northwestern California, aka Cal 9), but Verizon is pretty darn close now, and continues to erode their network advantage. On top of that, Verizon and USCC roam in-market onto each other here in NorCal, and VZ now roams 3G on USCC as well (it used to be just 1X), so Verizon customers get the best of both worlds. USCC roams in-market onto Verizon 3G (and 1X) as well, but they don't have the phones, features, etc. that Verizon does, so Verizon really has the advantage now. USCC must be doing fairly well here though, they are building a brand new corporate store across from WalMart in Ukiah (10 miles south of me), replacing the one by Raley's Supermarket (Raley's Shopping Center, a mini mall thing) in Ukiah that has served them since they first got cell service here over 20 years ago.

Not that I have to explain myself, but I'll give you a few reasons why I will not go Android. 1) I have a lot invested in iOS apps, and all my music is in iTunes. 2) I have no desire to re-buy or re-download apps in Android. 3) I can easily manage all my family's devices (iPad, iPods) in iTunes. 4) I like the way iOS operates and I like the user experience. 5) I know several people with Android phones, I've tried them, and they just don't do it for me, at all.
Very fair reasons, and to each his own. Once one is invested so far into a particular platform, it becomes tough to make a switch. I almost had to switch a couple years ago. AT&T doesn't cover my area well while another carrier does, but they don't have the iPhone. I decided to just stick it out because I didn't want to go through the rigamarole you speak of. Now another carrier has come in (Verizon) that does have the iPhone, so I dumped AT&T and switched to them and am quite happy. I'm sure Apple will come out with an LTE version of the iPhone in the Fall, so I can wait happily for that.
Good news - there is a sweet looking Pantiech phone coming out. FML

It's called giving people a choice. Wow, what a concept! Liking a certain product does not make you a "sheep", either, by the way.
It could just as easily be turned around to "you Android people are unbelievable", but that would just be rude. I haven't seen those of us asking for the ability to choose an iPhone in this thread (and others like it on HoFo) go completely and unnecessarily negative like the Android fans such as yourself.
Oh jeez...here we go again - iOS vs. Android.
Let's all just agree that we would love for USCC to carry the creme de la creme of both worlds ASAP after they come out.
I had several Blackberries and now an Android Electrify and I'd definitely be open to trying an iPhone if they become available on USCC. Everyone should have the freedom to choose whatever phone/platform they want and even want for one that's not available yet without being belittled, chastised and criticized. I just don't get all the immature flame wars over what kind of telephone likes and chooses to buy.

Good grief, I get so tired of people who think someone's subjective choice on which mobile OS is superior for their needs is somehow an indicator of their intelligence. The fact that someone else has different needs than you do and accordingly chooses a different phone is no reason to get angry with them or to insult them. Get a life.
Couldn't agree more. Giving customers a choice is always a good policy if it's feasible. iOS and Android are both solid mobile operating systems, and it would be great for USCC customers to be able to choose. I'd like to see more Windows Phones as well.
Mod note: Let's leave off the borderline insult match, why don't we? Keep it on topic - whether uscc will eventually carry the iPhone or similar is fine. Attacking one's choice in OS is not. If someone's post riles you up, don't reply. Simply report it if you feel it violates forum rules and I'll look at it. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
Tearsonurcheek I was actually wondering if you were still around.
Haven't seen you in awhile!

First of all,at this point it isn't feasible,it is too late in the game. The majority of USCC customers who wanted the Iphone, left for a different carrier to get it. With the new data plans, it is not likely they would be able to lure them back.To get it for the few that are left dowsn't make sense.
It just gets sickening that every time another carrier gets the Iphone there is a post and it is they got it,why can't USCC get it? It is a constant barrage of whining.IMHO, this thread should have been deleted from the start as the topic is not USCC related.
