It just gets sickening that every time another carrier gets the Iphone there is a post and it is they got it,why can't USCC get it? It is a constant barrage of whining.IMHO, this thread should have been deleted from the start as the topic is not USCC related.
I didn't realize 100% of US Cellular customers had smartphones and were completely satisfied with their OS. Until that happens, it will be important to have the iPhone.

More likely, USCC will lose non-smartphone customers to other carriers who do have the iPhone when they decide to upgrade.

    Verizon's 3G network. ............................................ AT&T's 3G network.

    Verizon's 4G network.

Do you really think there are that many people hanging on to their dumbphone waiting for an Iphone? Get out of the Apple fantasy world and back to reality.

I think your both being ridiculous. I'm sure getting an iPhone would be a good choice at some point for USCC because as has already been stated, more options are also good. I don't think it's safe to say that most people who will go to a smartphone for the first time will get an iPhone. Sure it's a great and popular product, that doesn't mean everyone who doesn't have a smartphone yet is going to want an iPhone. Still Ace you don't have to be a jerk about it either. I'm sure SOME people who will migrate will want an iPhone too. Maybe we should just stop the debate about iPhones and USCC until we know more than what we know now.

None of us are privy to what Apple asked for from USCC.

None of us are privy to USCC's marketing results with reference to what % of it's customer base and potential customer's still want the iPhone.

None of us are the end all be all authority on smartphone OS's.

Choice is good, I prefer android but I realize a lot of people like iOS. I think a lot of the reasons people think iOS is better are often misinformed or wrong but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and it doesn't make someone wrong if they want a device.

Heck most people who I speak with who get an iOS device want it because that's what everyone else has... does that make them wrong? No, it's their choice and no one is wrong about their own personal preferences, even if their perceptions about an OS might be wrong it doesn't mean their opinion or preference is any less valid.

I know plenty of people who get a Playstation 3 or an Xbox because that's what their friends have, doesn't mean they really know which is better for how they use it, or really care for that matter. They want what they see their friends with and that's that. I could go on how PS3 is a better piece of hardware but we'd get into the same flaming pointless debate.

In the end it comes down to choice, and everyone has a different opinion on what is best for them. However, rarely is a choice or purchasing decision incorrect, people want what they want, even if they want it for the wrong reasons, the fact that they want that product makes it the right choice for them, even if you or me or anyone can point our reasons its inferior or superior, in the end their choice is theirs and because of that its the right choice for them....

    *end nonsensical rambling tirade*

Well said. Don't forget, there's always new customers as well. Just because people left uscc for the iPhone doesn't mean they wouldn't come back if uscc were to pick it up. When they get that iPhone on AT&T or Verizon or Sprint, who's to say they'll be happy with it? The iPhone may not be what they thought it would be (grass is always greener), or the other carrier's network may be far inferior to uscc's in their area, or the CS may tick them off to no end.

No, they are not. Love the fact they are putting their resources to expanding 4G and waiting for the I5 to come out.

Realistically, are they getting the iPhone 6 this fall? My phone isn't charging, and I guess I could use a Virgin Mobile phone with $20 service for a few months if USCC is actually getting it soon.

It seems incredible they don't already have it, and would be astonishing if they didn't get it this fall, after even bargain carriers have it, but...

I doubt USCC will have the iphone by fall. I could be mistaken I'm not all seeing and all knowing. I would not bet on it. I my self wouldn't own it. iphone is still 3.5 inch display...Seriously!?1!

The rumor's been that the iPhone 6 will have a larger display. Regardless, 3.5" isn't too bad, and regardless of THAT, it's one of the two biggest mobile OSes, so it's pretty bad for a carrier not to have it.

It's kind of funny that people are complaining now because there is no I4 and you know that if they started carrying it now and then the 4G IPhone was released, they'd complain that they can't get a credit or why didn't USCC wait until the 4G version came out. To keep things in perspective, the vast majority of USCC customers are happy with the company and the phone they have and as is true with most of these type of boards, the moaner-groaners will always be unsatisfied about something.

The iPhone 5 should have been carried since last fall, but regardless any is better than none, just like even having an LG or whatever Windows Phone 7 phone is better than nothing.

And I don't know about this "vast majority" thing, but at my work we went from maybe 50% us cellular to me being the last person with it, a huge chunk of that leaving for iPhones. I've been holding out since 2007 lol

A good friend of mine who works at US Cellular said Apple wants $599.99 for each IPhone with no incentives, the only vendor that does this. He also said their CEO said she wants to spend their resources on the 4G roll-out before looking at carrying the IPhone. Having said that, my wife really wants one but is happy with her HTC Desire until that time comes.

Idk why your mocking the Guy that pretty much 100% matches what USCC has said publicly about the iPhone. To expensive right now and they'd rather invest in 4G. Cspire got the iPhone and then had to delay their 4G network by over a year because in large part of the iPhones cost.

Aren't they about to announce the new iPhone 4GS++ next week? I imagine we'll see a lot more people complaining about US Cellular not having the latest iPhone again soon.
