    Nice find. I wonder how limited the "unlimited" data is, especially if it's on Verizon. As far as speeds, I consistently get 1mb+ down on Sprint's 3G compared to 500-700kb down on Verizon. Verizon's footprint is obviously larger so that's a fair trade I guess.
    Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.

    Primary: iPhone 5S, Galaxy S4, & LG L90: 5 lines, 1x $15 5GB data, 2x $5 Android web, 1x $2.99 T-Zones, corp discount + $10/mo loyalty discount = $93/mo tax inclusive
    Secondary: iPhone 4 & Optimus Dynamic II: TracFone (Verizon); Galaxy Epic: RingPlus (Sprint)
    Tablet: iPad Mini Retina w/ T-Mobile 4G LTE

    These VZW offerings on Net10 and Straight Talk are liable to put a squeeze on Page Plus' "The 55" plan. We're assuming the monthly service price will be $50 for Net10 and $45 for Straight Talk?

    Those are the correct prices.
    This is the first and only way (legally) to have a smartphone with Trac/Verizon. Sara/ST says there is a second Verizon/Android coming. They seem to being releasing for both ST/N10 at the same time.

    Detective work. For instance in the tutorials it shows how to find the S/N (MEID/dec), it also shows other items, such as the PRL.

    The easiest way is to minimipulate the Market in the URL:
    CO = Verizon only
    SPR = Sprint only

    I have a hard time getting excited about a phone that requires me to spend $45 or $50 a month.

    I have two Android phones active that only require $10 every 90 days, an LG Optimus T on T-Mobile, and a Sanyo Zio on PlatinumTel. I use them on wifi wherever possible to keep the data charges down to the bare minimum. I carry the Zio around town because its data cost is only 10 cents / megabyte. If I'm traveling, I may activate a $2 or $3 / day rate on the Optimus for "unlimited" data for a few days. Since my prepaid balance is normally just building up, I usually have a large prepaid balance to draw from for those few $3 days out of the year. It's all about keeping costs down while still having fun.

    Sorry, MANIPULATE is easier to pronounce when you see it spelled correctly.

    Millept,

    PlatinumTel? That's on Sprint right? And no roaming?

    Still, if they fit your usage needs fine. That's not what the new phones mentioned here are about.

    They are "unlimited" plans, not $0.10/MB.
    And not for occasional use, but for people with high usage daily.
    $2/day= $60/mo, more than the NET10/ST offering. And you're talking about T-mobile which has plenty of problems for many (I can't get a decent T-mibile or Sprint signal at home).

    So, great that you found an inexpensive option that works for you.
    Slamming a new option that may well work better for others seems a waste of time.
