It would be nice if Verizon would allow the 4G phones officially to be activated on PagePlus even when the LTE does not work. On the Straight Talk BYOD sim they allow any GSM phone but you will not get LTE. However, at least you can activate the latest and greatest GSM device.

I know you can somewhat activate newer Verizon 4G phones on PagePlus but too much of a hassle for the average user.

If PP would offer the TnT 1200 with 1GB data that would open the flood gates as that would be a very attractive plan for many people.

I agree with the last two posts. I personally don't think PP is ready to make a jump from 100 MB to 1GB on the TnT1200. That would be great for the customers (and as mentioned above, it's going to be like opening the flood gates), but I don't think it's going to happen.

They may soon bump the data up a little and make the plans more attractive though, maybe 10 MB to 25 MB for The 12, and 100 MB to 250 MB for TnT 1200. This is PP we're talking about. They have been holding out really tight on data and focused on giving away tons of voice/txt from the very beginning. I don't see any reason why they would change that strategy. I wish I'm wrong on this, but I don't think I'm going to be.

Forgot to add that I'd love for them to allow 4G/LTE handsets to get activated while disallowing them to get 4G speed. That would be a perfect middle-ground right there.

I am seriously thinking about signing up for the $12 plan but 10MB seems really tight even though I don't use my phone away from home that much. Obviously, I'm not going to be doing music streaming or YouTube when I'm not on WiFi, but will 10MB/Month be enough for an occassional Google Navigation, email checking and FaceBooking?

A bump to 25MB would be great!

I talked to a Walmart wireless center employee today, he said ST is now outselling everything in the store including contract plans. For the first few days they had trouble keeping the Samsung Proclaim running on the Verizon network on the shelves. For many people it's all about android phones and data. While the phone only works with the $45 plan, he said data is unlimited but they flag your account if you start using over 4GB. There is no overage charge, but your account could be closed if you keep going over. I am shocked Verizon allowed such a phone on ST, but this move allowed them to sell millions of new phones vs. having ST pulled from the store.

Today it's all about data, the more data included in the plan, the better. PPC does have it's advantages, the $12 monthly plan, the $29.95 monthly plan and standard plans that work with smartphones. 1200 minutes and 3000 text is alot for me to use, granted there isn't much data, but I save $$$ by keeping data turned off.

I think I could sell tons of phones on PPC if only people around here knew what that was, but I think we need to accept the fact that PPC is happy with where it is and the few people who want more data are going to move to ST, but that's just part of the prepaid business. Your customer doesn't have a contract, so they might buy a phone, put a pin on it and you never see them again. The joy of using prepaid. I guess we just have to decide if we are happy with our current plans and what PPC has to offer, or if we want to switch.

ST doesn't allow Android phones on its $30 plans & most people don't need unlimited minutes & text. This would be a major selling point for PP. Then bump the 55 plan to 2 GB for those who are heavy users.

This would be great, but I dont think will happen any time soon. PP just doubled the data on the 55 plan recently, that was a big step. Im surprised it costs a LOT more just for talk and txt on a Verizon family plan than on PP or ST or even verizon unleashed! Data is definitely where the money is. I think unlimited 3G on PP will be an option once 4G is really the standard. Maybe another year or two.

10MB data is really low! not enough for browsing or FB! I have 100MB and leave it turned off most of the time. If I use it for browsing, I go through a few pages and already used a few MB. I cant browse much with 100MB, let alone 10! I would love to have 250MB or even 500MB on the TNT1200. I might pay $35 or 40 for it even. I guess a data "bucket" would work too. Maybe 100MB for $5?

It's all about data now. Talk and Text are dead, as a revenue model for carriers. And they know it, which is why data is being so restricted and priced exorbitantly.

That's what I don't get! They're advertising them as "unlimited" but it's really not unlimited. What they really should advertise it as is "Unlimited Minutes and 4GB of data", since anything over 4GB will result in your account getting flagged, and if it continues, your account gets terminated.

The reason they don't say that is because they don't pay for 4gb for everybody on that plan. They pay for exactly what each person uses. If they said you get 4gb then people are going to be trying to hit that every month to get their moneys worth. But if you don't really know a limit (that yes is definitely there) then you won't try to hit that certain level.
They want to keep you to using a little as possible, but if you go too much they cut you off.
They some-what line it out in the TOS, but I believe it is false advertising, and they should change their practice.

Of course now PP upped the 55 to 2gb of data.

I just saw that and I think that is going to win them some business.

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.4; en-us; ADR6300 Build/GRJ22) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

That's being penny wise and pound foolish. What do you imagine the cost is in labor for all the customer service time spent dealing with the aggravation around this issue? And projections for the same if it doesn't change in the future? I doubt they'll be able to sustain their fake unlimited offering indefinitely.

And yes, great news about The 55 plan. The other shoe dropped, and it didn't even take that long. Maybe we'll see tweaks to other plans as well!

Honestly I doubt that most of their customer service reps make much money.

Whatever the budget for CS is, if time is spent doing a task, that task is costing the budget's money, and it would seem yakking about why I'm not getting unlimited is starting to take up a bunch of their time that was previously used for something else. They'll feel it, sooner or later.
