Hi all,
Looking to root my Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE on Bell and was wondering if there is a way how or if it's just too new at the moment. I've tried searching everywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

Pardon my ignorance but I can't find anything that says firmware. My Kernel version is 2.6.35.11 and the Build number is GINGERBREAD.UGLCA
I hope one of those is the firmware version. Thank you for your help![]()
Yes, looking to root mine as well and yes it is sgh-i757M
Any news on how to root Galaxy S2 LTE from Bell???? I cannot wait!!!!
I am sure it will take a few weeks, this is a brand new device
It will probably take a while before someone gets root on it. This particular model is found only in Canada .... The GS2 HDs in Korea with different model name have root but have been around for a while.
Someone provided a link to a rooted Odin-based Bell SGS2 HD ROM here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1649065
I don't have the device yet so I can't test myself.
Thanks dsi76! That was exactly what I needed. I downloaded the rooted firmware from the post you provided and flashed it onto my SGH-I757M using Odin3 v1.85.
I was expecting to lose my app data and texts, etc. (first time rooting) but everything was still there! And I've confirmed it's rooted by downloading GO Backup (requires root privileges for certain features) and it was fully enabled, whereas before rooting it said those specific features were disabled.
I also was able to find a stock firmware for the SGH-I757M via a quick Google search if anybody needs to restore their device for whatever reason.
Thanks again all!
lol Good idea. Took me a few attempts to figure out how to download that at first. That and it'd be good to have an extra copy floating around in case something happens to that Russian site. Thanks again!
The battery life is actually the only downfall to this phone. It's apparently notoriously bad (not just my particular unit). In fact, if ICS doesn't increase the battery life for me or if Samsung doesn't release an extended battery that's compatible, I may just have to upgrade to the S3 (though having to spend more money for that would really suck as this phone is absolutely great otherwise).
I'm not entirely sure if the same procedure would apply to root ICS but I would assume so? I'm not really an expert by any means so I can't say. Hopefully somebody else will chime in.
Should be the same method to root ICS, ie. download the firmware and inject the superuser files. Someone should easily be able to do that with the ext4 utilities from xda-developers.
BTW possibly the Rogers S2 battery is the same type and size as used in this model? I think I had read that. So I believe you could use an extended battery from that device.
So I'm not the only one with awful battery life. It improved drastically after turning off lte and setting the screen to auto bright, but why have an HD LTE phone thats dim and only 4g?
