I want out of rogers and want to switch to fido. I have read about the porting over to fido and people here and have said you need to be with rogers for more than a year, and that your current contract doesnt matter to be able to port over. I have been with rogers for about 5-6 years now and did a hardware upgrade back in september 2011. I called rogers and the rep said that you are only able to port when you have 6 months remaining on your current contract which, from what I have read, is not true. I then called fido and asked about porting over and he said you have to be at least 12 months into your current contract.

Basically I am wondering if anyone has actually managed to port over to fido successfully without being 12 months into your current Rogers contract.

Also, if I get my contract renewed by changing my plan(to one that requires a new contract) I will be under the new cancellation rules, correct? Basically I want to find any way out of my rogers contract and sign with someone else. Basically any help would be great.
