Some of us folks in Gooberville USA would be happy if VM's 3G actually resembled 3G most days.

Nobody is expecting 1.3 Mbps all the time, but 13 Kbps isn't going to cut it either.

A 130 million people in 70 cities isn't too bad. That's a lot of potentially happy Boost/VM customers.

Wi-Fi is everywhere, Home Depot, Malls, Supermarkets, McDonalds, Coffee Shops, etc. The list just seems to keep getting bigger everyday.

That's why VZW charges the prices they do, sometimes it's the only service option in Goober-Ville/Town/Village, etc. It's a good thing Goober (Wal-) Mart is now selling ST to help bring affordable wireless prices to Rural America.

CON-Tracts??? We don't need no stinking contracts!

Just started a new VM line on a Venture.
Ran a speed test 1030PM EST in Fort Lauderdale FL 330 ping, 0.12mb down, 0.24mb up.

I can't say I'm surprised as the poor 3g data speeds is the main reason I left VM in the first place. I also have postpaid sprint which gets about the same, but at least we have wimax here.
When the EVO 4G comes out I just might drop my postpaid sprint line and stick with a combination of VM & T-Mobile.

Looking forward to wimax also. Last night driving home from work, Pandora kept buffering on me. These 3G speeds are painful. I no longer worry about going over the data cap, my data is already throttled.

My 3G speeds on VM average around 0.10 Mbps up and 0.15 down.

The speed is strongly influenced by signal strength. If I have the phone in my pocket, I pretty much automatically lose 2-3 bars. If I want to use Pandora, I usually set it on my desk (or other stable surface nearby). This seems to help, at least with my Intercept.
    My toys:
-Samsung Intercept with 8GB Micro SD card, loaded up with tons of GBA games (Fire Emblem FTW!).
-Motorola RAZR V3m (Dark Pearl Gray) flashed to ViVo with COOL custom skins and all.
-Motorola E815 flashed to Bell and loaded with 100's of Java games!

No, that's pathetic but if Sprint has service there doesn't AT&T or Verizon for options?

Everything I've read makes me think Network Vision is going to make Sprint a viable contender against the big two but YE/2013 is a very long way off. Rural markets will be on the bottom of the list for it I would think.

Verizon has LTE in this market...and has had it for quite some time. I'm not going to spend $100/month on a contract with those crooks, however.

AT&T, US Cellular, and the regional carrier iWireless also operate 3G networks along side Sprint. There are plenty of options here, just none that are reasonable in price. That's the one thing VM has going for it right now. Unfortunately, its value is somewhat obscured by the lousy 3G they have in the market.

VZW has prepaid 4G LTE in my markets too. It does cost more than the competition but it also works better than T-Mobile and AT&T, no Sprint 4G in one of the two market areas I use.

Has there been any Pre-Order information @ the VM EVO V announced yet???

My 3G works well, but I definitely want to upgrade my Wildfire S to an EVO V ASAP.

You mean none that "you" consider reasonably priced.

Straight Talk with BYOD = 45.00 a month.
    Page Plus 1GB of data = 55.00
    Jolt & Red Pocket 2GB of data = 60.00

None of the above seem unreasonable.

Verizon cost more no doubt but they give you the network behind it. You do not have to be in a contract (BYOD) and can get 450 minutes with 4GB of LTE data for 69.99 using Google Voice for messaging.

I like Sprint (and it's prepaid divisions) as it's coverage is everywhere I need it to be. It's data however has gotten so bad that I took my line to Verizon. I certainly pay more but I do get a superior experience on the data side.

Are you referring to the Jetpack? There are no LTE phones yet allowed on prepaid AFAIK.

No phones yet, aside from the Jetpack, you can opt for the new iPad, an Android Tab, and/or USB device.

They all cost more than competitors options, but they deliver great results.

My speeds are highly variable on my elite. I get 976kbs at home but 12 miles away at work I get 50kbs.

Looking at my recent unthrottled data speeds, I'm starting to wonder if I should switch to an older 2G/GSM service that's available in my area. Because it's occasionally faster than Virgin, and more unlimited.
