I'm looking for some input (Positive or Negative) on going to work for Cellular Sales. I am currently working at Xerox services as a customer care/tech/sales/billing agent for SPRINT. I am working about 50 hours a week and im lucky to hit 14$ an hour.
I met a recruiter at a job fair and I have done a few interviews with Cellular Sales; they are boasting some pretty good numbers for a salary. Currently anything is better than what I am doing. I know cell phones, bills, etc. Just wondering if i could get some advice or input from current or past employees of Cellular Sales.
Thanks.

not a fan of the company?
Hi David. I've been with the company for almost 5 years as a current employee. The pay is not salary, but is commission-based, so you get paid as much as you put into the company. The pay works based primarily on a share system, so when a sale is made, the commission is divided equally among the reps. There are other products that are NOT shared that can earn you more money, or you can make appointments with folks you have sold to or that you have met outside of the store, such as your friends, family, or referrals, and not share your appointments. The best reps in the company net $9k/mo. Average is about $4.5k. It is very do-able to make $60k your first year and start to get more appointments and other business to help build on that over time.
The company is privately owned, operates over 500 stores in over 17 different states. I came from a telemarketing gig making $250/wk to this and it changed my financial life in a big way. As someone who has sold cars, cable, jewelry, and done a few things here and there, it's an honest, straight-forward way to make a legitimate earning for your family.
There are others on this forum that don't think too highly of the company for their own reasons, mostly because it's their competition, so unless they offer you a job to work at their store, I say you should work there.
EDIT: If you have any other questions, let me know. Good luck.

Thanks for the input I'm gonna go for it. Sounds like a no brainer for me. From what I understand the market here in Nashville, Tn is pretty fresh. Cellular Sales are about to open a few new stores in some great locations. I love working with phones, but working for sprint cx care is a nightmare and the pay is a joke. The sprint network update makes me dread work everyday, It's effecting quite a few people.
The only issue I ever had with Cellular Sales was them coming in to my BBYM in the Altamonte Mall and trying to sell on our salesfloor. Yes, they'd actually bring customers into the store and conduct part of a sale there. After a couple times, we'd just sell whatever phone they wanted (minus the iPhone) at $0 to steal the sale and they stopped doing that song and dance.
Hi i just wanted to piggy back on this thread i had an interview with cellular sales today and i was just wondering how long they would take to get back to me? Also i after the interview i was sent and email link for an aptitude test. The test was timed for ten minutes and wasnt particularly hard but i only completed half. Is that normal?
Yeah, with that test I think the thing they are looking for is how many you answer right out of what you answer. I only got half way through myself. From start to finish it was almost a 2 month ordeal. I start with CS on June 18th. Really excited about it. Good luck
hahahahah oh boy... what a company
you'll either love it or ****in hate it
I have noticed a mix reaction to the company. Everyone I have personally been dealing with has been super solid.
I'm currently doing cx care and tech support for sprint right now. It's a total nightmare. For me personally I have nowhere to go but up. But seriously, Hit me up if you need an upgrade ha ha
