Quick question on expired sim - "no service" displayed?

I have an pre-paid sim that I planned on using to periodically check to see when 3G was available on 1900 in my area.

The sim was working for a while but now that it's expired the sim card is just displaying "No Service." While I don't expect it to work - is this the expected behavior for a expired sim? I was expecting at least for it to register on the network and display a signal (even if I couldn't place or receive calls).

I have a factory unlocked phone that I use on AT&T. I'm trying to figure out if it's a phone issue or because simply the sim is expired.

yep you will have to drop 7$ on a sim and get more minutes. if you pick up a 100$ prepaid card you sim will not expire for a year.

Unless the offer is expired you can get a prepaid SIM kit for $2 through the T-Mobile prepaid site.
