I currently have the OV and plan on buying the new LG Optimus Elite. There seems to be some confusion still, whether grandfathered customers will be able to keep their $25 plan, but regardless, I'm taking the chance.
If we are able to keep the plan, i'd like to purchase and activate my phone before 5/27, what i'd like to know is, what's the best method of getting my phone: pre-ordering through Virgin Mobile or buying it in-store on 5/15.
There's also a thread that tries to address which phones can allow the $25 plan to survive. I'm fairly certain that the Elite is not one of them.
If you would be satisfied with a Triumph (I've heard tethering doesn't work on that unless you install a new ROM), that would allow you to keep the $25 plan. You would make up the difference in price in about 10 months (over going with an Elite).
edit: I didn't see the post about VM's facebook page (saying that the Elite WILL let you keep the grandfathered plan).
I hoping it gets grandfathered but you never know with virgin mobile. Plus it comes with 2.3 stock. Also the triumph gps is horrible along with the signal.
I agree. I had a triumph for two months and sold it. After the lame screen flicker and gps never working, I wont use another motorola device. Im picking up an Elite as soon as Walmart has it!
Yeah, there's definitely been some misunderstanding about the whole thing, but I'm taking a chance and hoping for the best and that my plan remains $25 a month.
So, you think buy in-store is the safest bet? I need to start making calls around to verify someone will have it.
