Time Frame for iPhone 4S Unlock
I am posting this question on behalf of my sister. I am a Sprint, Rogers and former T-Mobile customer so I am up not up on the details of VZW's iPhone unlock policy. My sister has been a subscriber to VZW since the mid-1990's, has had the same phone number and has always been in good standing. She is considering getting an iPhone 4S. As we have family in Canada, I maintain an active Rogers SIM for use when either of us are there. My question is, since she has been a subscriber in good standing more than ninety days, would she be eligible to have her iPhone unlocked immediately for international use or would she still have to wait ninety days. It would not matter at this point as she will not be traveling there in that timeframe but if it can be done immediately I would loan her the SIM to complete the process.
My iPhone 4S came from Sprint unlocked as it was before 11/11/2011 when they started locking all new phones. I never bumped up against Sprint's unlock policy and have been able to use an international SIM without any problems.
