Hi, All. After having found my w376g in the dryer last night...which means it went through the washer...I had to go out and buy a phone quickly since I cannot be without one.
Unfortunately, all Walmart ha was this LG430g.
The only two things that drive me nuts with it so far is that the clock on the outside says 06:23 PM instead of just regular 6:23 PM. And then on the inside screen it has the same clock up in the right hand corner except it's tiny and yellow....right above the regular clock and date on the screen.
Is there any way to change the outside clock to just have the regular time instead of the 24 hour clock as well as perhaps removing the same one up in the top right corner which is above the regular time display?
This is really bugging me. don't know what the issue is with all of the clocks. Then they don't even put it in standard format.
Also, any idea how to get rid of the useless "widgit"? That too is annoying me.
I have read the manual and browsed around for an answer but it looks like I'm stuck with this.
Plus i'm obsessive compulsive so I'm about a few minutes from just chucking the thing and getting that lg 800.
This is the first lg I've ever purchased and it's much different than motos. Motos menu system was awsome, I thought. Don't rally care for lg's so far.

I'm not familiar with your model but I "grew up" with LG's and prefer them. Go to the menu under "settings" > "display settings" > "clock settings" to see if there is a choice there that may help you. I'm working with a 5 year old LG 5500 here so I'm not familiar with menu selection changes on newer LGs.
In the past I've learned to just play with a new phone trying different things to find something that works.
Have you looked in the tutorial? Here is the link to the tutorial and there is also a link to the 61-page manual at the bottom of the left-hand column.

That's not the menu path on this phone. Thanks though. Also, I notice no voicemail listing under the messaging menu unlike the w376g that I had. It listed voicemail as well as told you how many you had. With this LG, it seems you just press and hold 1. No way of knowing how many voice messages you actually have unless you call it...by pressing 1 and holding it.

I don't think I'm keeping this phone. Phone calls crackle too and it has the tendancy to ring really faint for around two seconds before gradually getting louder to the actual setting applied says it should be.
Even the flip is weak. It shifts from side to side about 1/8 inch both ways while it's closed. Junk.
Going to have to look around on the website for a better motorola from tracfone, I guess.

Can you tell me if the "1" key and "0" key cycle through the punctuation while texting? My 231c I have to go through many menus to add anything other than a period. Only phone I have ever seen do this...grrrrrh!

Yes, it uses the 1 key and 0 key.
Browser is lightening fast for me, btw. Just forgot to add that before. I only use it to check email and the weather channel though.
