Man, thats $4+ dollars in fees (and probably like $6-8/mo with the other variable fees)
So really the $39 plan is $45/mo. Which puts it in the range of Straight Talk and isn't all that competitive considering its
1.) on Sprint 2.) not BYOD with expensive device options
Verizon 4G LTE
San Francisco | San Jose
AT&T 4G LTE
I'm betting there are some other surprises that no one will know about till they get the service. There is section with extensive terms about account abuse and their right to terminate you. Actually the most lengthy I have ever seen.
Its at least $23 and probably like $25. Theres $4 in fixed (set) fees/taxes and theres a few other variable fees/taxes.
Sprint kills the deal for me, at any price. FREE would be too expensive.
I don't know the specifics, we'll see, but if they don't allow off-network roaming (like Ting with Verizon, at least for Voice/Text) this is a really crappy deal.
Here is the thing that gets me about Sprint MVNO's.
Most of them aside from Sprints own MVNOs do not have a retail presence. So lets say your phone dies for whatever reason. You now have to have one shipped out from them.
With the AT&T MVNOs and really everyone else you can get a phone fast and not be out of service too long.
um most of these companies can be purchased at mom and pop style small retail stores around the country. here in Philadelphia i can find every sprint mvno company

A good point. Of course a lot of that has to do with GSM -> CDMA as far as portability and device changes.
Also the Sprint MVNOs are using devices as profit rather than loss leaders like the others. I've seen $225 for an Optimus level phone. LOL!
The data part of the $39+ offer is really truly unlimited or do they throttle or cut you off at a certain point (although if it's at a very high level like 50 mb on Millenicom Sprint then it might be "virtually unlimited")? If it's truly unlimited it would be competitive with the data plans directly with Clear because you would get unlimited voice/text for just a few bucks more than Clear's $35 or $50 a month plans.
Would they allow unlimited tethering or would this be against the TOS?
Looking for a backup for my AT&T postpaid modem. Currently have the Netzero 4G 200 mb USB dongle but am also eyeing the Voyager and upcoming FreedomPOP offers. While I don't plan on using a huge amount of data with a Clear/Sprint reseller, I'm curious what their definition of "unlimited" really is...

When it comes to MVNOs, only stick with the ones that have a Retail presence. Only the credible MVNOs get in and stay with Dealers. Hence 100s of Sprint MVNOs with only a handful available to Dealers.
I cannot find a single customer review on Voyager. If you've used Voyager please post a review on how the service works, customer service, fees and taxes for using the service.

It doesn't take much to become an MVNO really and I don't know if they are worth the gamble.
