Voyager Mobile Launching May 15 with $19 Pre-Paid Plan

New carrier Voyager Mobile starts May 15th, promises rewards for chatting it up

Competition among US cellular carriers is about to get a bit fiercer with a fresh national network that will actively encourage using your phone rather than setting hard limits. Newcomer (and MVNO on Sprint's network) Voyager Mobile is teasing a "frequent talker program" that will give all kinds of perks for the more talkative among us: call your Aunt Ruth a lot and you'll get phone upgrades, free months of service and smaller nice-to-haves like air mileage and gift cards. That's helped by Voyager starting off at $19 a month for unlimited voice, although picking a smartphone in the early catalog will hike that to a still rather thrifty $39 for all-unlimited voice, text and WiMAX data. If you're tempted by the price and don't mind an early phone roster that focuses on mostly Android-based carryovers like the LG Optimus S, Motorola XPRT or Samsung's Conquer 4G and Epic 4G Touch, Voyager will swing the virtual doors open for some states (with more to follow) when its countdown expires on May 15th.

Unlimited Wireless Plans starting at $19 per month, Introducing Voyager Mobile

KNOXVILLE, Tenn., May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Starting Tuesday, May 15 at 6 AM EDT, wireless subscribers will have a new option when picking their cell phone carrier -- introducing Voyager Mobile. Through its nationwide 3G and 4G wireless network, Voyager Mobile provides unlimited wireless plans starting at $19 per month -- no contracts, credit checks, or gimmicks.

Voyager Mobile aims to make wireless service much more affordable, putting today's technology in the hands of subscribers nationwide at a lower and fixed monthly cost. Voyager Mobile offers most Android and Windows smartphones.

While saving money on wireless service comes standard, Voyager Mobile believes in rewarding its customers for talking on the phone. We're introducing Voyager Rewards -- the frequent talker program. Simply talking on the phone will reward you with points, which can be redeemed for airline miles, gift cards, phone upgrades, and free monthly service.

To learn more about the products and services of Voyager Mobile, or to sign-up for new service, visit us on the web at www.voyagermobile.com or call 1-866-579-5511.

Voyager Mobile is based in Knoxville, Tennessee and provides wireless service on its nationwide 3G and 4G wireless network. For press inquiries, please contact Voyager Telecom Corporate Communications at 865-381-2216 or email voyager.mobile@voyagertelecom.com.

Although Voyager Mobile's wireless network has coverage nationwide, sales of wireless service are currently being launched in select states, with the remainder coming soon. Please visit www.voyagermobile.com for more information.

.....The first plan costs $19 per month and includes unlimited talk and text. The second plan costs $39 per month and includes unlimited talk, text, and data. Both plans are pre-paid, but do not include local, state, and federal taxes. According to Voyager, the company will sell most of the popular Android devices that are available from Sprint, such as the Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy Epic 4G Touch, Motorola XPRT, and others. .....

    I wonder who did it?????

During its Tuesday, May 15 launch, Voyager Mobile experienced a malicious network attack to its primary website: voyagermobile.com. Due to the network outage, Voyager Mobile is postponing its launch to a time and date in the very near future.

Our goal of low cost wireless service for all will not be undermined and we strive to continue the voyage for a better wireless world.

I was looking forward to this.

BGR says that the service will start in the southeast and mid-Atlantic before expanding.

The site is down because they experienced a malicious network attack. They will be postponing their launch.

I know they want to create anticipation...and I'm willing to accept their claims of sabotage....but I can think of no reason they couldn't have still disseminated the phone prices and terms of service so we could digest that info in the meantime.

Thanks. I was wondering if anyone actually saw the prices.

The SGS2 might be worth 600, but the $400 difference between that and the subsidized price will take a good while to reach a break even point. That isn't even including the fact that $200 for the subsidized phone isn't exactly cheap.

Is it too much to ask Voyager to sell the Sprint GN at $400 like the Google Play one is? LOL, I know.

    Voyager is live now.

    http://store.voyagermobile.com/

The phone selection is pretty good, but it seems to have the postpaid model of levying surcharges on the consumer. I didn't see anything about throttling or streaming prohibitions. The devices have a 25% restocking fee if you want to return them (eg: ~$125 for the SGS2).

Does anyone know anything about the Voyager Mobile experience so far? I assumed that someone would have it by now.

Their phones are too expensive. The moto xprt is 419. It is only 99 on boost for example.
trying to come up with better signature.......
