A couple of VZW plan questions...

I read the FAQ and am looking for some clarifications.

    1) Say I have the .99/day plan and buy the $10/month text plan, can I do this?
    2) If so, when I get a text and send a text, I will have no additional charges, correct?
    3) I make a one minute phone call, 1.09 will be deducted from my balance, correct?

I'm trying to see if I can have a VZW phone for about $20 a month since I don't make many calls.

    Thx!

    1. Yes. You can add either text pack to any of the 3 daily plans.
    2. Yes, until the limit of the text plan has been exceeded. Then texts are the non-plan rate of 10 cents each.
    3. The first call you make or answer on a particular day triggers the 99 cent charge. This is only possibly charged one time per day (midnight to midnight). In addition, each minute of a call costs 10 cents to non-Verizon numbers or your voicemail. After you have paid the 99 cents, you can talk free for the rest of the day to other Verizon Wireless phones.

If someone calls you but you don't answer and / or let it go to voicemail, it doesn't trigger the 99 cents or count minutes. You can check voicemail for free by calling your own number using a different phone.

So the short answer to 3 is that if you make only one one minute call per day to a non-Verizon number, it will cost $1.09 like you said. The 99 cent plan only makes sense if almost all the people you call are Verizon customers(*).

(*) name-brand Verizon postpaid or Verizon Prepaid services only. MVNO's like Page Plus and Straight Talk do not count.

It might benefit the OP to use a Text Bundle with the Minute Plan instead of a Daily Plan if they use very few minutes.

I was only the daily plan for 9 months so I can answer this

With the daily plans the $0.99 cent or $1.99 is only taken out when you make a phone call. It does not matter if you call someone with a Verizon phone you will still be charged because you made a phone call. The $1.99 or $0.99 applies to phone phone calls only and it is a daily charge, and is only activated when you make a phone call.

If you have a text bundle you will only have the $10 taken out of your account every month and there is no charge for texting unless you go over your texting limit. So if you use up the 250 other texts then you will be charged.
