    These texts are what they call SMiShing. Essentially a Phishing attempt via SMS. This is a growing problem in the industry where spammers are trying to get you to give them your personal info. Many times they are trying to opt you into a mobile subscription where you will be charged a monthly fee for a program like, Joke of the Day" via SMS.

    If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Unfortunately, many people fall for these type of scams.

    The thing I find strange us that all those monthly fee programs are regulated to an extent. How do they get away with signing people up on scams?
    txt.ca has all the programs available in Canada.
