Well, you can use the predefined avatars, but unless you go premium, you can't use a custom avatar.

I looked around, but can't seem to find the option to go Premium. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    You get:
    -Custom Avatar
    -Custom user title
    -Increased Private Message capacity
    -Ad-free
    -Premium skin
-Access to a members only section

That's just off the top of my head. I may have missed a benefit or two.

    More than one post.
But on the plus side, I knocked over the SunSphere.

Actually I believe that the Hello Kitty avatar is one of the default ones. OP still is listed as non premium, which leads me to believe that it is a default avatar.
